That would only work if the person listens to all of his/her music on the computer. I listen to about 10 hours of music each day on my Nano, so that's where my top 25 most played in the last [insert timeframe here] is.

...10 Hours? What do you do in those ten hours? I listen to maybe 15-25 songs on my ipod a day, which is like what; 1-2 hours tops?

BTW, LOVE your Nature gallery :)

I got 2 snapshots here: one for overall listening (since about 2/05), and for the past year. Enjoy!

Would a smart playlist set up like this do the trick for you?

View attachment 68149

that playlist would still arrange all the songs played in the last week by total play count. for instance, a 500 play count song would be listed higher on a playlist having been played only once in the last week compared to a 20 play count song having been played 15 times in the same week. i think the question was whether the songs could be listed only by the previous week's play count.

Heres mine. It's quite varied though most of it has been on my MBP since i bought it so its not liek i've built it up bit by bit. I do love my music though :d

Well, I do a lot while listening to music. I clear the table, do the dishes, clean my room, study, show my friends some of my favorite tracks and recently discovered artists, riding to and from the university... it's the studying part that takes up the most time.

EDIT: I didn't realize I put 10 hours just on my iPod. It's probably about ten hours listening to both my iPod and my Mac :)

Oh, and I'm really glad you liked my gallery :D Feel free to leave a comment!

wow, 759 plays in 2-3 years, that's a lot!!! you listen to that song nearly every day, unbelievable!

Yes, I do :) It's amazing, the first time I heard it I literally saw a story unfold before my eyes... It's one of their masterpieces (along with Faraway and Farewell)

I usually stream music from my G4 desktop so the top 25 isn't a very realistic list as streamed music doesn't count. Here's my recently played instead:

Good list Jason. Good list. :D

Mine:

Your's aint too bead yourself. Havent had my Tenacious D for long enough but classico is an awesome song! I prefer PoD and Beezelboss tho. My Metallica is also not featured on my list as their songs are so long that playing one of them is equivalent of playing one "normal" song!

I never listen to much music on my MBP, but my list is as random as it comes:

Yeah, my Metallica isnt on the list for the same reason. Hehe. My fav has to be 'Fuel' tho, I, unlike a lot of Metallica fans, like the newer stuff more than the older.

Not the most accurate as I've a number of tracks that are duplicated on other albums that have split those play counts. I wish there was a way to tell iTunes that a song is part of multiple albums, then I could free up a fair bit of space by getting rid of duplicates, and not have an incomplete album.
