Those peacoats are complete crap. They aren't wind proof, weather proof, water proof... Hell they aren't even cold proof. They are complete garbage. I haven't warn mine in almost twenty years. Give me gore-tex mountain parka and tee shirt and a fleece pullover, and I'm good for the Barents Sea.

Ha well even in cold-as-hell upstate NY, the Navy has the same crappy cold-weather gear as always. We make do with what we can.

yeah, I'd like one of those, but it's kinda out of my budget. I dunno why they (TNF) and similar sell stuff sooooo expensive...
