I appreciate the help. But I'm trying to figure out how to remove all the extras that are part of the theme that I don't want. I want only the app icons and folders. I'm afraid if I start removing things I'll screw it up. For instance I once wasn't paying attention to what I had selected and hit delete and removed my entire library and I had to restore the phone and re-jailbrake. maybe more work that I needed but its the only way i knew how to fix it.

Try re-downloading/unzipping the file

Name what png file you want to this:
FolderSwitcherBG (on I4 and it's named FolderSwitcherBG@2x.png)
And put into your themes com.apple.springboard folder. Then ssh/ifile to
var/mobile/Library/Caches And delete these (it's safe will re-write itself)
com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.0
com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.1
com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.2
com.apple.SpringBoard.folderSwitcherLinen.3

Reboot

Thank you for the very clear instructions! Just changed mine out using these, using a section of a wallpaper from an earlier post. Only weirdness was that on mine, the theme shows Folders -> SpringBoard.app instead of com.apple.springboard. I'm on 4.2.1, difference vs another firmware, maybe?

And thanks to this thread, I've now added Bytafont (currently using Ogirema) and MBEx to the mess on my phone. I'm amazed the damn thing isn't completely bogged down with all the crap I've put on it in the last week!

Now to go start searching on other MBEx themes...

You need a program like 7-zip or WinRAR to extract the file. How to's with the program

That's totally normal (SpringBoard.app). I'm sure you got more .app folders/files in there! com.apple.springboard is a separate file in the Bundles folder

Here's the wallpaper. Give me a few and I'll post what numbers I used to place the icons where they are. You would just have to change the numbers and it would be much easier.

Navigate to Private/Stylesheets and edit the wStyle.css file.
