my new mod

There's a whole mess of themes and tweaks going on here. If you want any of it feel free to ask and I'll try to remember where everything is from. Except the wallpaper. You can't have that :)

I was finally able to track down the Noki square SB widget (hat tip to map1978!) and picked up a different Noki LS while I was over on Modmyi. Not sure if I'm completely sold on the LS, but it's pretty cool for now.

Here's my one question (and something I haven't been able to figure out completely yet). I'd like to be able to use my own SB wallpaper (and preferably change it from the camera roll) as opposed to the bright white/gray wallpaper shown here. Fantasigraphic did a bunch of looking and seemed to figure it out the other day, but it didn't work for me, unfortunately. When I've only got the Noki theme applied, I can do it...but once I apply a Noki SB widget, I have to use the white/gray wallpaper in the screen shot below.

Does anyone know what I can do (if I can do anything) in order to use my own wallpaper and set it from the camera roll?

Felt like an icon change today--Elite Pro HD (from Cydia). One thing I don't like is the folder icons--the apps inside are off center in the frame. I need to look at other options for that, and for fixing some of the customizations again. Needs more mixing and matching.

I know, I know, I should be jumping on the Noki bandwagon instead of messing with these ancient themes. Maybe tomorrow. :D

And I need to work out what themes to keep on my phone, how to sort it, and what I can archive back to the laptop. I spend most of my time on the iPhone and iPad; I don't want to have to constantly hook the phone up just to swap for a different lockscreen/widget or more importantly, wallpaper. Right now, I can't do that easily because of the stupid LockBackground.png naming convention. I suppose I need a folder in iFile of wallpapers I can just move over and rename, but seriously, what a PITA.

GOT IT!!! I can now set my wallpaper from the camera roll AND use the widget! Sweet!

Noki's definitely more interesting to me with different wallpapers. The white on white was a great novelty, but I'm finding I like the icons a lot better with some color behind them. Makes me wish I had a white phone, though. LOL

for custom icons. all you need is:

SHH into the THEMES FOLDER(where all your other themes are at). "example theme" inside of that folder -> "Icons" and drag all the icons in here. activate via Winterboard

(note, the icons has to be the same name as their appear on your screen. IE Plants vs Zombies would be PvZ in your Icons folder)

as for widgets, they are basically the same thing as icons. just drag into your themes folder and activate via Winterboard.

hopefully this makes sense, PM if ya need any help

Thank you! I really appreciate it. I'm about to try out some widgets now and let you know how it goes.

No, I felt the exact same way! You put it perfectly...it was a great novelty to start, but a darker background or one with some color makes the white icons "pop" more. It just makes it more interesting, at least to me (and you...lol). :D

Can u post how u got it to work?

Sorry about that! I should have posted it when I got it working, but I was just so excited (and a bit proud of myself, since I'm not all that great at modding code!)

In this particular widget, I opened the "Wallpaper.html" file. It's a really small file (much smaller than the usual Wallpaper.html file). Here's what I did:

I removed:

<img id="Wall" src="Resources/Background/Image.png" class="stretch"></img>

And in it's place, I put:

<img id="Wall" src="/User/Library/SpringBoard/HomeBackground.jpg" class="stretch"></img>

Respring, and it worked. Keep in mind that I'm still on a 3GS on iOS 4.0, so the older tricks still work for me. Not sure if it works on the higher firmwares now, though, but you can give it a try. ;)

How do I add widgets and custom icons to my phone through SSH? I don't know exactly where to place them. I'm using "CyberDuck" for Mac. Can anyone help me out?

Make sure Winterboard is installed also.

Still not ready to make the full Noki leap--mostly don't want to deal with adding ThemeIt for just one theme, and nothing else they had interested me. Though, damn, it would look sharp against this wallpaper! But I did download that awesome weather widget:

For those having problems with wallpapers and this widget, check to make sure you've got the updated version: Larke's noki SB weather widget She posted the update a few pages after the original over on ModMyI. It contains a readme that instructs on how to update the image files.

This is the easiest weather widget to update that I've seen yet. Wish all of them were this easy to adjust for location and wallpaper!

Damn you all! Finally bought into the Noki HD theme :p tadad1's sbssettings theme pushed me over the edge (sigh)

Hey! Someone else using Elite Pro HD! It was the first theme I installed and I've stuck with it since. I know it's ancient and not as flashy as these new ones everyone's sporting but the one thing I like about it is the icon mask/framing that makes all icons look part of the theme without having to edit PNG files. Makes everything look complete. I was looking for a similar theme so I could have some variety.

Never noticed the off-center groups...hopefully it doesn't drive me mad now that you've pointed it out!

Well people going wild with noki all over the place, i see ;)

tadad1 i really like what you've done with the SBSettings mod, would be cool if you'd share it on Theme it's blog noki user-mods page so others can enjoy this very nice mod.

Keep it up peeps, enjoy noki, Prestige & more to come soon ;)
