Hmm, to be honest mine was only $44 and I took like 100~ pics today in NYC and everything went ok; while transferring and shooting.

And I have my eyes on a Nikkor 55-200mm lens already... mmm:D

Victor

Congrats !
Make sure you get the 55-200 AF-S VR where VR = Vibration reduction. It makes a hell of a difference! When I got my Nikon D40 (a month back) from Amazon, Nikon had an offer of $100 instant rebate on checkout on any AF-S lens you purchase apart from the 18-55 supplied lens. 30 day post-purchase price guarantee refunds meant I Paid $560 for the D40 + 18-55 AF-S DX+ 55-200 AF-S DX VR :D
The 50 mm f1.8 prime lens is another superb (one of the best and the fastest in this range) lens an it comes for just about $100. I must add that it won't do Autofocus on the D40 but shooting with manual focus is so much fun !!

I have a few of his songs, I really like them. I have been thinking about buying that album of iTunes. But how are the rest of his songs?

Well all the songs are just live versions of his actual songs, with a couple covers. Personally I like the live versions of the songs, as they just has a nicer feel to them. Its really worth the buy

Just got back from a Crowded House gig at Thetford Forest, in Norfolk.

I guess buying the tickets counts?

Managed to get right to the front, and I mean right to the front! It was well worth the 3 hour car journey:D

I should have bought my first one years ago, but I've left it and left it and finally got one.

Shure SM58. I use them all the time, and for good reason they're the industry standard mic. Stupidly robust, well made and they sound good. Also incredibly flexible (more so than almost any other mic). Stick a pair in a piano and they work fine, stick them in front of a vocalist and they're great. Stick one in a kick drum or in front of a guitar amp and it does a stirling job. Awesome piece of kit.

Sure you can get other mics which sound slightly better in front of a vocalist, but they aren't as flexible and robust, the Sennheiser E835 comes to mind.

Also bought a pair of small padded flight cases to keep my mics in.

Oh, and I REFUSE to wear any sort of running or athletic shoe in public unless using them for the purpose they were made. You don't wear running shoes to school or Wal-Mart. That's just wrong!

Sometimes we have to wear/use things outside of their intended purposes out of necessity.

I wear running shoes as whenever I can since my podiatrist recommended I do so. It seems that aside from shelling out a small fortune for "special"" shoes, many good running shoes offer similar support and are good for people with foot issues like mine. I have found that Asics running shoes (certain models, not all) have provided the support I need and I move with much less pain now.

A Nikon SC-29 TTL Cord and SK-7 Bracket...

annoyingly the bracket is too short to have the flash on the right hand side (grip side) of the camera as i wanted it, ill have to look for a longer one.

infinity = nissan = crap :rolleyes: :D

u should invest your 50k in a good car, like charger r/t - srt8 or Cadillac

Not to make fun of your opinion or anything.......:D

BUT ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Have ever heard/seen/felt/drove a G20/G35/G37? They are some of the most amazing "inexpensive" fast cars.

I really don't know how you got it for 50K though, they start at $36,957 (or something like that)!

do u daisy chain them off each other? I use the fw 800 port and I see it has 2 on the back. Wondering if its possible.

No, I don't. One's for my iMac and the other is for my Mac Mini. I'm pretty sure you can daisy chain them, though. Check OWC's website if you ever decide on getting another one, I'm sure the info is up there somewhere.

SM58's are awesome, and you can always get good deals on them!

Despite them being really robust, you still get the odd eejit who manages to break them: Was teching a small gig at a local venue for some bands, and one of the vocalists thought it was 'rock and roll' to throw his mic down at the end of his set... and I mean throw.

Lovely mics they are! My favorite live mics (though I use a Beta 58 on vocals when possible). You are right, they can be used for almost anything. I never play a gig without a couple on hand.

Great all-purpose recording mics too, though I tend to prefer my 57's in most recording scenarios.
