I just bought a Samsung 32" LE32A456C2D, and I'm now wondering whether to open it or not..
Bought it for casual TV and PS3, but for £419 it'd better be as good/better than in the shop.

is this tv 1080p? I saw a 37in 1080p on buy.com and woot.com for 500usd

how would you compare them to the porta pro? how is the bass?

ninja edit: blast. let us know how they are when u get 'em. thanks.
I know I already said that it wasn't a fair comparison, but they arrived yesterday & I thought I pop back just to say that they don't have anything on the sound of the PortaPro. My biggest cripe is they suffer from lots of cable noise (by which I mean when you turn your head & the cable brushes against your collar, the sound is transferred down the cable into your ears, which is quite annoying when you're listening at low volumes).

That's not to say they aren't good buds, just don't expect a £15 pair of buds to sound as good as a £15 pair of headbands, because they won't. If you're concerned with sound quality & aren't bothered about design (bud vs headband) then definately get the PortaPro. However if you are dead-set on buds I don't know of anything else in this price range that can beat the CX300's, unless you want to buy a pair of Koss SparkPlugs & do the mods to them.

I have a sony 32" XBR that I got in September and I love it. Highly recommend it awesome picture and sound.

Finally got a Timbuk2 laptop messenger. The only place I know that sells them was Mountain Equipment Co-op down on King St. W., and their selection was limited. But I like the black/grey look. The thing is a tank! I can carry a good 15-20 pounds of stuff with ease. My old bag was made of reinforced cotton and putting lots of stuff in there wasn't only difficult because the bag was small but also really strained the fabric to the point where I was afraid something was going to break. With the Timbuk2, even carrying tons of stuff, it feels tight and sturdy and it doesn't break your back so much. Best $80 I ever spent!

Sorry about the poor picture quality!

On another note, I also got a Linksys WMP54G to free myself from university internet.

1996 Land Rover Discovery SE(7). Fully loaded except a CD player, but I use my iPod so it doesn't matter to me one bit. It's my first personal car and runs purely off E85.

Friday night's dinner. Some chicken pita thing from Chili's. The unfortunate part was that after a final shot of tequila, it made a reappearance. :(

Processor upgrade for my desktop, E7300 (45nm Wolfdale, 2.66GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 3MiB L2) to replace the E2140 (65nm Allendale, 1.6GHz, 800MHz FSB, 1MiB L2). My E2140 has a manufacturing flaw where the heatspreader doesn't make proper contact with the core, or the core with the case, so I could never unleash it's full overclocking potential :(

Also bought the backplate for my Xigmatek HDT-S1283 cooler, I've never trusted that thing on just the push-pins!

do you walk around that drive or is it something that you are going to put in your notebook? Wouldn't a larger 3.5" drive be better and cheaper?

There's a market for portable external hard drives. I wouldn't mind getting one, thereby transferring my entire iTunes library from my internal hard drive, which has been depleted of space by tv shows of various networks/genres. In fact, I've spent more money on tv shows than on music.

I live mine (though it's the 450 not 456, though that could just be NTSC versus PALness).

We use it in the living room :D And don't forget to set it to Movie mode, otherwise the exposure looks too harsh.
