My unibody Macbook came today. Sadly I don't think it will be a purchase very long. I drives me insane when I drop a lot of cash just to not be excited in the slightest bit.

Thanks Apple for the $1500 rectangular block of rock with sand and decomposed plants stuffed inside.
(A shiny case made from only one piece of rock, Silicon, and tons of plastic crap)

How could you not be excited? What's so awful about it?

What type of tripod and head do you have to go with it? Or do you just use a really good monopod? The answer will probably depend on where you're sitting/standing during the event, right?

My ballhead is pictured in that photo and it's great - it's an Arca B1. I have a Wimberly Sidekick gimbal attachment coming tomorrow. My current legs are on the wimpy side but serviceable, they are Gitzo 1127 legs. There is no budget to replace them at the moment, but some Gitzo series 3 legs are on my radar. For sports I expect to mostly use a monopod with this lens, and I have a Gitzo CF monopod with a Manfrotto swivel head setup like that described on the Really Right Stuff website.

Why did you stop at 8?

Because 8 is enough for what I do. Some light photo work, but its mainly a home computer. Got it at the cheaper biz discount, so it was worth it over an iMac to me.

I have the original 2 with it, I may get another 2x1GB just to even it out at 12 and have all 8 slots filled. Going to first put the 8GB in and see if I ever get a page out. If not, I'm selling the stock ram.

If I could have I would have been more then fine with a Linux machine. I would have loved that, but I need to run Logic Pro.

I guess I fell out of love with Apple a few years ago, but still really rely on the software side of things.I choose to use the software because I really like it, I am just not that crazy about their hardware anymore.

Speck hazard orange see-thru for my 13" MacBook. I normally don't like cases but the color looks cool and I got it for a great price. I wish they would make see-thru cases in this color for the iMac and iPhone. I may post real pics when it gets here.

Don't forget to clean it regularly, or you will curse! (Scratch from dust trapped)

I'll trade you a MSI Wind that just came to my door not more than 10 minutes ago for it!
It'll run OS-X perfectly and you can have non-apple hardware!

Please?

My sleeving arrived yesterday, black for the bulk and red as my accent colour. The Lego-pain is all over my fingers now but it's gonna look so good once I finish.

I got this for my cats. I feel like this year, I might want to try and take them out for a day in the park sometime. I didn't get to test it today but perhaps this weekend.

And of course, because its Burberry. Or you know, Burberry imitation.

Nice. I've had mine since December, and I love it. :) I especially love the fact that it comes with a little control. ;) I also love the really loud speakers it comes with. Some people don't care about that feature, but I use it all the time when I need to do stuff in my basement, and there's no music. It's great.

Can someone please tell me why I keep giving Chris Cornell second, third, and fourth chances?

DAMN IT CHRIS. Just go back to Soundgarden, they're doing it without you and you are the trademark vocals. Stop putting out crap and save yourself while you still, kinda, can.

Because, just like others ... just like me ... you hope that one day things will turn out like they were in the past.

Cornell is an amazing musician -- let's just hope that he can "find" himself again.

I have so much faith and so much respect for Chris, but he just isn't a good solo artist. He needs a kick ass band backing him up. And Tad Doyle singing his Soundgarden songs is just sacrilegious. It's wrong on so many levels. To me it's like if Chris had done Rage songs while in Audioslave. It's a slap in the face.

Chris once said that if the band were ever going to come back, it'd be a unanimous decision. He's the only one holding out.
