The internet connection died during the last 30 seconds of the 3.0 download!!! Now i gotta start all over again and wait 20 mins.:mad::mad:

EDIT: Okay, 3.0 is installed and running. Let's hope the new Push service doesn't drain my 1st Gen battery too much. *crosses fingers*

I just ordered my first Mac ever!

imacpreview.jpg

Minus the remote. (The computer was a gift, so I tried not tacking on extras if I could help it...)

I got the 24" with the ATI Radeon 4850 (the one upgrade I always planned to get), and thanks to my amazing grandmother who's footing most of the bill, she convinced me it was okay to upgrade to to the 3.06GHz processor! I was gonna go with the 2.93GHz but she said I'd regret it if I didn't get the better one. Wow. I love my family so much.

I also ordered iWork, and I chose the wired Mighty Mouse and wired Apple Keyboard with the extra keypad.

And Applecare, of course. :) I didn't upgrade the RAM or hard drive. I figure I can buy RAM later for much cheaper, and an external hard drive if I need it.

We actually had a heck of a time getting the shopping cart to work for us, even though we were at a physical Apple store and had two employees helping. It kept adding in stuff and bringing our total to $10,000, and then refreshing itself and showing the cart to be empty when it wasn't! What the? We finally fixed it though. Hooray!

It's set to be delivered anytime between June 27th and July 7th. My birthday is July 9th, so, I'm very, very happy. :D

Wow - what an amazing grandmother indeed to know what a processor is let alone telling you 3.06GHz was preferable to 2.93GHz (I kid, I'm sure she just said get the 'better one' rather than go into an in-depth discussion with you about Apple products).

It will be awesome - welcome to the world of Macs, enjoy and try not to get birthday cake on it in a couple of Tuesday's time... ;)

Trying to reduce expenses so dropped Time Warner ISP Cable to ATT just cause price doesn't fluctuate. Now trying to drop my Cable TV from $120 to sub $100 (might drop premium for Netflix)

Just letting you know, the mini display port to hdmi wont carry the audio from the macbook. You are going to need to run another audio cable

Thanks for the heads up, I'll get an audio cable too. It's too bad it doesn't do the audio (I know HDMI supports it), especially when Apple is all about fewer cables and stuff.

An HP Wireless Elite keyboard. It's great! Very thin but very comfortable to type on. Key travel is just right. Just need to get used to it!

Some clothing from the Gap (Bermuda shorts, boardshorts [which are surprisingly much higher quality than my Quiksilver pairs], some shirts).

And this:

Not my photo. But that's exactly it. First Cold Stone Creamery I've seen in Canada! Hoorah.

No way! You got rid of it! Although I can't imagine the change will be pleasant. Using a netbook isn't quite using a full-featured laptop. But you have desktops, am I right? I would never use a netbook as my primary computer!

I recommend you install Windows 7 on that thing. Ditch XP. Windows 7 will fly.

I still have my eMac, don't worry. :p What pushed me over the edge was my PC dying two days ago. I need Windows XP for the webcomic I do, and since I was considering getting one of these anyway, it seemed like a good time to do it.

If I can get my desktop PC to work again (I think it just needs a power supply or something) then I will definitely do that. :)

PS3 because it is still one of the best Blu-Ray players out there. Plus as I am finding out, the Cell CPU is a monster crunching proteins with Folding@Home. :D
