can you please take that pic down?
Lol. Nope.
Eugh, one of my next purchases is going to be at a dentist. To fix a molar that I broke a while ago and put off going because I had awful experiences with the dentist as a child.
Lurchdubious... how do they fix broken molars where the front of it and some of the inside has gone?
Oooh, don't ever put that off man. You could easily end up needing root canal therapy instead of just a simple filling, costing several hundred dollars more, not to mention a lot more painful! When you say "The inside has gone" you're referring to the dentin, which is the hard tissue that lies directly under the enamel and protects the pulp cavity. If some of it has gone, that means it has decayed; been dissolved by the acid-producing bacteria now residing in your tooth, i.e. Caries.
As far as fixing it, well that depends on tons of factors. If you've let it go long enough that the caries has penetrated down to the pulp, you'll probably need root canal therapy and a crown. If you are experiencing some pretty serious pain then that's probably what you're looking at. If the caries is still in dentin, then the dentist can prolly fix it with an amalgam restoration (silver filling/cusp).
LOL.
Really tho, as far as pain, with topical lidocaine and various anesthetics a trip to the dentist is most definitely not what it used to be.
