Welcome to 2009. Sorry, had to...

Regardless, great phone. I'm so torn between going Blackberry or Droid. I need a change from my iPhone.

I would personally keep the iphone(although thats because I'm on verizon and can't get one), but the droid is great, I also don't like the look and feel of blackberry's.

I signed up for the AT&T 3G internet for my new Thinkpad. Sweet internet everywhere I go. Only $46 more every month. However, I'm not particular happy with the 5GB limit—after just a few hours, I've burned through 500MB already.

how are they? I'm a shure fan but I love the ability to change songs and volume with the remote.

I don't like them very much; they are a tad better than the stock headphones, but I feel that for the price, I could have bought better in-ear headphones. I do love the integration with my phone and Apple is usually quick to replace them if anything is wrong with then. Other manufacturers will almost always require me to send it in and wait a few weeks.

Rented it first, bought it after I made the decision it wouldn't be boring after a week.

Just bought that over the weekend on Steam. Great game; beat the single player mode in one play. Multiplayer rocks. Just takes some getting used to.

I love how it's not graphics intensive enough that I can't max everything up, but the graphics are enough that everything looks sweet.

Couldn't wait till Friday. Wanted some instant satisfaction. I must say,
I am impressed with this blu-ray drive. I parked my laptop for a few
minutes next to it and networked it with the ethernet cable I have, and shared
my internet connection through my macbook. Easy. Didn't need a firmware
update. I was equally impressed by Megan Fox in the preview for

Transformers 2, on Star Trek. Omfg she looks hella nice in HD.
We had a friend over for Star Trek last night, and she couldn't tell the difference between blu-ray and normal TV (she also wears glasses
and can't see well so that explains it). My wife and I think the picture looks
a lot sharper do to the higher resolution. We only have a 720p tv, and it
still looks like a definite jump. The sound on bluray .. it's just amazing.

Well that was our Christmas present to ourselves. I really want the Lord
of the Rings blu-ray boxed set coming out soon, and a copy of Half Blood
Prince. : )

Was biulding up for this purchase and fillany pulled the trigger today when amazon lowered the price again on the Nikon D3000 and $100 instantly off when you purchase the 55-200mm lens. So I got the lens for $115. Woo hoo!

You do realize that if you do not have a 1080p TV, you arent watching the Blu Ray in full high definition. You have to have a 1080p to really experience a a Blu Ray dvd.

Yes I do know that. I do know that 720p has a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, a vertical resolution of 720 pixels and a horizontal resolution of 1280 pixels, or 1280x720, for a total of 921,600 pixels.
I do also know that my old television was 640x480. I can visibly see the
difference in the resolution on my television (which was free with my apartment by the way), the colors are also deeper and more vibrant- with the
benefit of the better player and the HDMI cable, the sound is simply amazing compared to regular dvd. All in all it's been a pleasant experience.
Our next expenditure in a few weeks will be a 1080 HDTV, probably a 46 inch. Or even a 52. We're undecided.

Got 7 movies uber cheap from Best Buy:

Meet The Fockers:
$4.99
40-Year-Old Virgin: $4.99
The Fountain: $4.99 (GREAT movie!)
Fighting: $8.99 (Love Channing Tatum)
17 Again: $8.99 (Zac Efron is HYSTERICAL in this!! ...and gorgeous. ;))
Coraline: $10
S. Darko: $10 (Took a chance, hope it's good-ish. ><)

$53 before tax. Not too shabby considering 4 of those 7 movies came out pretty recently.

Weird but when i play Blu-Ray on the PS3 with my 720p and 1080p displays i get a nice picture but now like the ones you see in Best Buy, it's like watching it in real life without that cinema look if you know what i mean.
I am using HDMI.

Talking about Transformers, (maybe each Blu-Ray movie has it's own quality?)

What package/options did you go with? I'm in the market for a domain name.

No extra stuff just 2 years, used this code to get 30% off "fav3"
Godaddy gives you many crap add on options before you buy your domain, but they are never added if you don't click them yourself, other then that im very happy with them,
they have great customer service and they respond fast in emails and calls.

I agree with most of these, but The Fountain is among the WORST movies of all time, IMHO ;). Sorry.

My last purchase was...10 gallons of gas for the wifey's car. :D

I believe 120Hz HD TVs cause that watching real life effect. I know some people have said that dont like it because it makes movies look like a live camera instead of cinema. so thats why I think its that type of tv. Ive heard people complain about it when they first came out.

no its not a setting. typical hd tv has a fixed refresh rate at 60 Hz. 120 Hz is a type of tv that cost extra money. all you have to do is look at tv ads or tvs in general and they point out in the ad which ones are 120Hz

I am not really sure about how this impacts HD, but remember how they crank up the contrast and other settings in store models? Would that have an impact?

Well it's absolutely a setting on my parents new HDTV. I can't think of what it's called at the moment, but I always turn it off because it does not have the movie look.

That's the exact reason. They especially turn up the contrast to achieve a super sharp image. In my opinion they often exaggerate, because the image sometimes is so sharp and colorful that it doesn`t look real any more.

My series 6 Samsung has 100Hz motion plus which does the same thing, its horribly distracting when you turn it on. Which is why even for gaming i keep it off.

Ahh okay then. I noticed it a few years ago when I was in Walmart fiddling
with the controls.. I turned to my girlfriend (now wife), and said, "Look, the
contrast and other stuff is waaay up high!" "Cheaters!" Lol!

Yeah i guess they do put the color and contrast settings on very high, but the 120 refresh rate makes it look super clear but yeah it's weird not having that cinema effect. It looks like a very high quality tv show like or self made i dunno
