I've wanted these for a while now. I don't drive and I figured the money I saved on gas, I'll treat myself to these. Own birthday is coming up.
Will be my first custom earphones and will finally have a legitimate excuse not to share. I share other stuff, but I don't like to lend out anything I put in a crevice on my body; last few times I lent earphones out, I got them back with earwax on them not fun at all.
Probably will sell my older regular IEMs after I get these to cover some of the cost.
I like this logic! I guess with all the money I saved not taking a private helicopter to work could allow me to make some more purchases as well!

Seriously though I stopped driving and instead now bike to save on gas because I figured my money was better spend on other things like these earphones and maybe the the upcoming tablet computer that I don't need.
Yeah, low quality rips will melt like toxic waste in high level professional in-ears. Man I wish I would have enough money to buy the same. Right now I'm using Shure E2c for my in-ear monitoring needs. Congrats man!

did you ever consider the JH13s? i hear the soundquality is slightly better, while the UE18s have a slightly boomier bass. either way, i'm so jealous. i wish i had a job and wasn't in college..

I have the 360 version and get a crappy connection every game, thus making it almost unplayable. Also a gamer TV show we have down here reviewed the PC version and said it was basically unplayable online because of only having american servers. Here's the rather interesting video review if you want to watch it, and believe me the lag shown there happens every time I play.

that's just bad network design on their part. You should be able to play on North American servers no problem.
Although I don't have any consoles... the reason being I don't have confidence in my self control. I'm afraid I'll turn into one of those people who sit for so long they take root in the furniture.
When I play UT3, there are lots of people from Australia and the UK on various North American servers. That seems strange.
Just don't loose sight on what you're really there to do.
