I dunno if mine is a first gen - I don't think so since its the C2D version.

Picked up a hard to find Kodak zi8 in black, a portable light tent, and table top ball head tripod - time to get my youtube on.

Good choice on the Kodak zi8.... I've heard good things, plus it has a Macro mode for close ups. Of all the mini HD recorders, I think that one is the best.

I'm picking one up in the next month or so.....

I am hoping the macro is sufficient for some youtube unboxings and reviews :) I am sure it doesn't beat others out there - but for the price, why not. Plus, line in mic, 1080p...not bad. I would just have to do some extra editting if I want smooth transitions between macro and non mode.

They are getting harder to find - and now being inflated in price at different etailers. $250 average for a black one! Crazy.

How is the extreme?

Really good, we've had some fun with it, a true hit at parties for sure, plus I like the no smell etc. I had two of the original models but they released a new Extreme-Q model at the beginning of the year so I bought two of them as well :) Gave my older gen Extreme's to a friend.

The new "Q" as they call it is really nice, it runs a LOT quieter than the previous gen, hence the "Q" at the end of the name I guess. I don't have to turn up the volume on the stereo or TV when I'm blowing a balloon, lol, a guy on a forum wrote he likes the quiet fan because his wife can't hear how often he's blowing balloons downstairs, not because she minds, rather he doesn't like to share, LOL.

The main reason I bought mine is because it runs a LOT quieter than my old Extreme's or my Volcano, (yes, I have a vaporizer collection :D)

I like the light weight glass mouthpiece, it's more natural than the big volcano valve imo and it's very smooth on the throat, about the smoothest I've tried, tastiest balloons, they say it's due to the use of glass ceramic whereas the 'cano has an aluminum heating block and plastic and when warm air comes in contact with metals/plastic that's where the 'sharpness' comes from .... that's what I've learned from my extensive vape research.

Actually it was trying a friends Extreme that sold me on it, I went home an ordered two right away, lol ... http://www.arizer.com is the link, I see the new Extreme Q isn't on the site yet, but they have them in stock no doubt...

Don't know why I picked it up really, I was at the Apple Store here, and it was staring at me, looking quietly elegant.

Haha! Same here!. I really thought I would have no use for it, but turns out that you can use it with your iPhone which I had no idea. I use it to control my iPod when its in my Bose player.

I've had multiple tech people, independent of each other, tell me that the Kodak is just simply better than the Flip and Sony ones. Better build quality, expandable SD slot (up to 32 GB), compatible with iTunes, image stabilization......

Enjoy it....

They're sold out on Amazon for now, but they're still accepting orders, and they'll ship when they're in stock. $179, maybe I'll order it tomorrow......

My roommate bought a netgear wndr3300 at the beginning of the fall semester, and now the thing won't even let me play a full game of mw2 or ncaa football. Netgear needs to do a recall on this thing, tons of complaints.

So I bought:

Picked up one at Best Buy and one on Amazon; just got a Wii at Christmas, and I've been needing a memory card for all those GC games I never played. Also, the SMB was in case we got snowed in this weekend; doesn't look like that'll happen.

G-Technology G-Drive @ 1TB. eSATA for my home Windows and Firewire 800 to time machine my MacBook Pro 13".

Dumped the NAS idea as I just need some general backup and something to store my general music/video collection :D.

what is so good about the G-Technology G-Drive, besides the looks? I have read tons of bad reviews.
Find me a bad review. I think you might be mistaking it for the LaCie products that are god awful.

The G-Tech's are very quick and offer all connections that I need :).
