Not really a purchase, but I filled out a FAFSA in hopes of getting enough money to start college in the fall. I wish to be a Social Worker for troubled/suicidal teens and GLBT youth. Time for me to help make a difference in the World. :)

I wish you the best of luck. :D

Also, I'd recommend getting a minor in Sociology or taking a Feminist Theory or Queer Theory course, if they are available.

sweet!!
I want to get into biking. Currently only run

I can't remember where I read it (may have even been on here!), but apparently 10 one minute bursts of your maximum potential on a bike is equivalent to cycling at a normal pace for several hours. Sure would cut down the exercise time!

That is not even close.

One minute bursts work your anaerobic cardio. That means it burns the oxygen contained in your muscles. On the other side cycling for several hours requires oxygen from your blood.

The energy needs may be the same but the effect on the body is not :)

That movie is so awesome!

Completely overrated, imo. I don't know a single soldier who likes it.

Soldiers like that main character... they get people killed. We hate those types. Plus, the film was just a string of tangents.

I'm not arguing with you (in fact physiologically I agree with everything you said)... I just thought the article was interesting.

It's not the exact article I read, but mentions the same study in the third paragraph

I personally hate that movie, it had little to no plot and was completely pointless IMHO. I cannot believe how it won anything, it really is beyond me, I could not get into it at all and I love 99% of all movies.

I just can't understand how you can like RPN...

It's sooo much easier in infix notation.

Hahahaha I used to think the same thing (brought up on TI83+/89...)

Once you get used to RPN, it's way faster...and it's far easier to keep track of your order of operations when you enter all your values before your operators.

Not to mention the added perk of not having to share/lend your calculator to your classmates! :p

+1

I so agree... the movie had potential but it never went anywhere....a bunch of non-sequiters...and dude was just plain reckless and selfish...my .02!

Check out "The Kingdom" with Jamie Foxx...thats a good movie

New phone!

New phone:
sony-ericsson-t715-closed-1023x607.jpg

One problem, though.

It's EXTREMELY hard to get the back cover off. If you don't have the willpower to just rip it off, then get the guy at the shop to do it. Also, it's hard to get back on, too. If it's not on properly, the volume buttons on the side won't work; they'll just stick and not pop back up.

Other than that, it's a great little (and I mean LITTLE) phone.

How is the Nexus One?
Anybody want to post a pic of the real deal? I'm on the fence. Either a N1 or iPad LOL.

Inital impressions is that the phone is nice. The way google apps works with the phone is one of the best features. between gmail, maps the syncing etc.. its fast.

I'm glad to have wifi again since my phone was one of the phones where it no longer detected it unless it was freezing.

the notifications bar is also really nice. I'll know more after this weekend when i make calls, email more, text etc.

So a long story, semi-short:

I ordered my i7 iMac back in December, and still nothing until the beginning of March. I called the company we order computer products from last Monday, and they said that I would receive it that Thursday. The next day, Tuesday, we receive an email from our corporate headquarters in Athens, saying that we are no longer doing business with the company I ordered the iMac from, and that all orders from that Tuesday, and prior, would be canceled. Boy was I dissapointed, especially because I would have gotten it at a much cheaper rate than buying it from a different company.

Fast forward to today. A delivery man comes in and brings this huge box in. I here him talking to my boss, and they mention something about a refrigerator (I work for a company like Best Buy), so I thought nothing of it. Then he looks at the order receipt, and it has the name of the company I ordered the iMac from, and my heart just stopped. I grab the box, and as soon as I felt the weight, I knew it was my iMac, and it was. I have been home since 2 working on it (adding additional ram, getting ready to migrate). The best thing about it also is that there is absolutely no sign of yellow at all.

The pic shows the new and old iMacs, and once I get everything done, I am going to post new pics, because I have a lot of new ideas for my area.

I suck at grocery shopping which ends up costing me $100+ a month for just me! So bought the angel food thing.

What is that thing? A food kit?!
Enough food to assist in feeding a family of 4 for a week? Pretty vague! A single grape would also assist in feeding a family!
