I hope you have more lights then that one. You should really be using a
3 point lighting system.
Yes I understand. Unfortunately for now he only has the one - up until recently he wasn't shooting video himself; he was being given raw film to composite together into the final product. The "problem" is that "technically" the car dealership for whom he works funded the equipment (they gave him a charge card and said spend what you need) so he didn't want to go absolutely crazy with the money - he didn't want to look like he was taking advantage of the situation.
He is, however, buying a 12' jib crane and LCD monitor for his real estate home shoots so get some of those high, sweeping shots that look really slick in property film. I'm looking forward to assisting him as a cinematographer and camera man just so I can play with all of the equipment.
I kept urging him to go with a DSLR because of the interchangeable lenses and full manual focus (50mm f1.8
Beautiful!!!), but he seemed really against the idea, I think because he wanted the auto focus that the pro-sumer video cameras provide. But...all is said and done and the Vixia is still pretty phenomenal.
