How are you liking the 27"s? I recently picked up a 24" thinking I won't need that much real estate ... but I'm seriously reconsidering it ...
I LOVE these monitors. The extra screen space is great. I do a lot of coding, 3D modeling, photoshop, aperture, digital painting, and I dabble in music and video so the extra space is great. I also love having a full screen to put reference material and documentation on and the other screen to keep XCode or Netbeans on.
I'll end up with same desk configuration as you, how do you like it? Did you order the file drawers underneath from Ikea?
Last question
Do you use notebook along with your set up or iPad only?
I love the desk configuration. Its perfect. It was really good for the price too. I require lots of space when I work because I generally have a wacom out, and bunches of papers, hard drives, etc and am quite messy when I get busy
The extra space lets me be as messy as I want.
The file drawers were actually from staples long ago for like $30. IKEA has some really nice ones I saw when I was out there though. I don't go to IKEA much since its 3 hours away but I love that store
Also normally I do have a laptop I use with my setup but a friend is borrowing the macbook pro in my signature as well as my old 24 inch ACD. It's probably a "rent to own" kind of thing so I plan on grabbing an Air whenever they are refreshed for my setup. Right now I keep my distractions (email and messenger) on the iPad.
How many days a year do you ride? And where?
(I ask because 8-9 years is a lot)
5 of those years I didn't get to ride because I was either in Iraq (as a civilian), Kuwait (as military), or Basic Training so its only technically 4 years of use. I try and go as often as I can but I usually end up only getting to go about 8 times per winter
I'm hoping for awesome snow this winter since I don't have a job (by choice) and can go any time I please
I live in Pennsylvania so I go to Blue Knob or Seven Springs since they are closest to me. I've also been to Wisp in Maryland and its very nice.
I have one more math class for my major after stat - linear algebra or diffeqs. I have yet to make up my mind. I heard linear algebra starts off pretty easy but gets intense while diffeqs is just difficult. How are you finding the materials? Easy to pick up? Or is it one of those classes that makes you do all the practice questions in the chapter in order for you to understand the concepts?
Linear algebra is very easy, but very very meticulous. The problems take a long time to do and your better just writing your own matrix calculator (since the ones online are often incorrect
) to do your work with if only to double check.
I use linear algebra all the time since I do game development so the class was pretty useful for me, but it is boring. Differential equations is actually something I never had to take (yet anyway) but I plan on reading up on my own just to say I'm familiar with them.
