Nice; that's a lot of stuff. I think I'm going to return the board and get something cheaper; I'd also be able to get this year's bindings with the difference.

My old stuff was 8 - 9 years old and its what I learned on so it was in pretty bad shape. I told myself if I passed my discrete mathematics class (which I thought I was going to fail) then I could get a new board. Well, since I passed it with a 95% I decided I could get new everything ;)

My wallet has since divorced me :(

I'm taking discrete maths right now .............. and I hate it. I can't imagine doing well in this class at all .... :(

On with the topic!

Three for the price of one!
Knockoff ebay bumpers that are very, very close to the genuine Apple bumpers.

It is a ROTTEN class! I was taking it towards a computer science major so we also had to write programs to solve the more difficult (and lengthy) problems.

Anyway here is my latest purchase! (The two 27inch ACDs!)

And also a Calculus 2 for dummies book! (I need a calc refresher!) I much prefer the dummies series to college text books since A. They cover almost all of the same material. B. They are fun to read!

I am taking it towards a Comp Sci major as well .... and yes, I have to do the same things. Just last week we had a program due that employed ONLY the very very basics of C and all the ~, |, &, ^, ! The most frustrating part is that the functions were VERY VERY easy to do with normal guidelines i.e. print 0 if x is not 0. We weren't allowed to use any constructs or constants - only some of the bit shifting and the logic portion of discrete maths. It was quite hard at first but the << and >> saved my grade.

Calc 2 ... another hated math class. I'm taking a Statistics course for my major ...... and my question is .... why do Comp Sci majors here have to take Stat?!?! (Realistically, I know the practicalities of taking Stat but that doesn't stop me from asking it. ;))

Also, very nice setup - I have the same Ikea desk except with shorter components :D The only bad thing about that desk is there are no drawers ... but that need is taken by the huge Ikea bookcase behind my desk. :D How are you liking the 27"s? I recently picked up a 24" thinking I won't need that much real estate ... but I'm seriously reconsidering it ...

I'm a CS/math major so I've been through these courses as well :p I didn't mind discrete - we had a great professor so it was enjoyable. I had to write a modal logic calculator too which was kind of a pain, but I managed more or less :)

I'm currently taking stats and it's stupid. It's not hard, per se, but it's just a pain in the ass. I'm up to Differential Equations for my math major and I'm liking it so far - not nearly as difficult as I've heard it was.

Nice !!!

Perfect timing for you to post the photo, thank you ..... I'm just in the middle of moving to a new house and setting up my home office. I have the same desk, and two 24" ACD's that I'll hook up to my MacPro .... your photo show's me what table top extensions I need to order.

I'll end up with same desk configuration as you, how do you like it? Did you order the file drawers underneath from Ikea?

Last question :) Do you use notebook along with your set up or iPad only?

How many days a year do you ride? And where?

(I ask because 8-9 years is a lot)

I think being a Maths major along with a Comp Sci major is a very very good combination. You have a very strong advantage to just CS majors. But sadly, I don't have the adequate abilities to be good at math. My discrete maths prof basically just puts us to sleep - he likes talking about his dog strangely enough .... with pictures ... and bonus questions on the quizzes/exams about the dog. ... Actually ... now that I think about it, I haven't had one decent maths professor. :(

I completely agree with you about Stat - it's such a pain and sometimes, it's so easy that it makes it seem like such a waste of time to study for it. That's the trouble I'm having right now. Whenever I do the hw/quizzes for it, it's a breeze but the actual readings and listening to lectures kills me.

I have one more math class for my major after stat - linear algebra or diffeqs. I have yet to make up my mind. I heard linear algebra starts off pretty easy but gets intense while diffeqs is just difficult. How are you finding the materials? Easy to pick up? Or is it one of those classes that makes you do all the practice questions in the chapter in order for you to understand the concepts?

I LOVE these monitors. The extra screen space is great. I do a lot of coding, 3D modeling, photoshop, aperture, digital painting, and I dabble in music and video so the extra space is great. I also love having a full screen to put reference material and documentation on and the other screen to keep XCode or Netbeans on.

I love the desk configuration. Its perfect. It was really good for the price too. I require lots of space when I work because I generally have a wacom out, and bunches of papers, hard drives, etc and am quite messy when I get busy ;) The extra space lets me be as messy as I want.

The file drawers were actually from staples long ago for like $30. IKEA has some really nice ones I saw when I was out there though. I don't go to IKEA much since its 3 hours away but I love that store :)

Also normally I do have a laptop I use with my setup but a friend is borrowing the macbook pro in my signature as well as my old 24 inch ACD. It's probably a "rent to own" kind of thing so I plan on grabbing an Air whenever they are refreshed for my setup. Right now I keep my distractions (email and messenger) on the iPad.

5 of those years I didn't get to ride because I was either in Iraq (as a civilian), Kuwait (as military), or Basic Training so its only technically 4 years of use. I try and go as often as I can but I usually end up only getting to go about 8 times per winter :( I'm hoping for awesome snow this winter since I don't have a job (by choice) and can go any time I please :) I live in Pennsylvania so I go to Blue Knob or Seven Springs since they are closest to me. I've also been to Wisp in Maryland and its very nice.

Linear algebra is very easy, but very very meticulous. The problems take a long time to do and your better just writing your own matrix calculator (since the ones online are often incorrect ) to do your work with if only to double check.

I use linear algebra all the time since I do game development so the class was pretty useful for me, but it is boring. Differential equations is actually something I never had to take (yet anyway) but I plan on reading up on my own just to say I'm familiar with them.

I'll be in 7 Springs a couple times this year, so look forward forward to the slopes as well.

Wow you must all be kind of close to me. I live about 2 hours (3 with traffic) from Pittsburgh in a town called Altoona.

7 springs is a little bit of a drive for me but well worth it. I've only been there once and I REALLY like it. Its not all ice like Blue Knob is.
