HO scale Kato GP35 model. I don't really model the Union Pacific, but for only $35 USD I couldn't resist.

Huh?

This is my understanding of what the hood will do.

From the product page:

Technical Details:
Reduces Flare

http://www.amazon.com/Zeikos-ZE-LH52-52mm-Rubber-Black/dp/B001UG57RY

I figured for $5, it's worth getting and seeing how it affects my photos. I like that it's collapsable.

Sorry - I mean shadow. Was thinking of the wrong word.

Got the slickdeal - Kobalt 173 piece tool-set for $50. Not my pic - but pretty excited, since I have some no name sets sitting in my amazon cart with less pieces for the same price - about to be deleted.

That's a helluva deal. Where did you find that? I see that set usually runs about $200.

Hopefully I like them. I just wanted something that was going to sound great and that didn't need an amp. From what i've gathered, these seem to fit the build.

I picked up some velcro straps and a bracket to mount my netbook to the back of my monitor so it's out of the way now. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse in the longer drawer in front of it, but I mostly use Jump Desktop to control it. I set up some wireless speakers by the tub, so now I can stream and watch movies while I'm relaxing in the tub :D.

That SO would not happen in the UK! You can't even have a proper socket in there...

Think I'll be okay with my iPhone without an amp?

absolutely. that is one of the many nice aspects of these phones - they are very easily driven. i'm sure you would get some benefits from an amp, but it is by no means necessary.
you should post actual photos of the white version once they come in - there aren't a lot of real world pics out there yet. i have the regular black version and have been very happy with them, for my needs.
