I ordered a 6920 for it :)

According to Google, a 6920 is either a:

or a:

Judging by size, I'm guessing you went with the latter. Be careful, don't "shoot your eye out". ;) :)

Did you actually get a 3G 1st generation iPad or is that just the picture you got. If you did the iPad 1 is still a great piece of hardware, I still don't understand why they left it out of iOS 6, I believe it has the same specs as the iPod touch 4th generation. If it is 3G no matter what generation it is you made the right choice, I could of used it on my iPad so many times, and even more times if I had of taken it places where it would of only been useful if it had 3G so I didn't bother taking it. (If that makes no sense to you I just reread it and found I hard to follow myself. LOL)

Just a photo I grabbed. It is an iPad3 64GB with only wifi. I am hoping to use it with the ATV3 for streaming videos. I have over 1000 DVD's I need to convert and get into iTunes so we can watch them. As well as I keep them organized by name on the shelves I have built, I am sure it will be much easier to just look it up in iTunes and away we go. Did not need 3G as it is never going to leave the house for now. If that changes I will just buy another with 3G. This is my first iPad so I need to see how I am going to use it. I will also start using it in my web development for viewing. Otherwise I have a laptop for travel which works well. Thank for asking.

I really should start converting my DVD collection to an iTunes compatible format and get an Apple TV (or convince my parents to buy one:p). Sometimes I wish apple made a 128 or even 256gb iPad no matter what the cost just so you could store more movies on it. Fair enough about it not leaving the house, that would probably be more my view if I had an iPhone or a more recent android phone with a larger data allowance.

Just got mine :D Love the IPS display, though black makes everything on the screen look much "poppier". Camera is finally usable! Other than that, it'll scratch just like the black iPhone 5!

Agreed. Its not like additional size would take up a lot of space. We are big into movies here at our house. Hence the large collection. But I can only imagine how long it is going to take once I get started on it. I hear different stories here on forums as to how long it takes to convert them. But I guess the due diligence will pay off in the end. ATV3 is so cheap, hopefully you can talk your parents into it. Good luck with your endeavor.

Stolen property? Seems unreal that you'd pick this up for $500.

Retina macbook pro for $500 :D :D :D

Yep, must have "fallen off the truck."

hahaha actually my dad wanted to get a macbook pro for his work so he went to the apple store and asked for the highest macbook pro they have so they gave him the retina. He took it home and then he realised that it didn't have a cd drive (i did say to him not to buy the retina because it doesn't have a cd drive).
So he offered to trade his retina for my macbook pro and $500. I couldn't resist :D

Every winter, the batteries in my remotes all seem to die at once, so the AAA's are for them.

The 9V is for the FET pre-amp in my 12 string. And I finally remembered to buy paper!

Courtesy of Crucial, a 16GB RAM kit for my mid-2012 13" MBP.

The difference this makes to performance from the stock 4GB is very, very impressive!

That's good to know as I'm considering the same upgrade for my 17" It currently has 2X4GB sticks, so I either take the hit and keep them as spares or sell them to somebody who wants 8GB. I have noticed that since ML my MBP has been a little sluggish, so you're experience would seem to confirm that it's a worthwhile investment.

I caved in and bought the upgrade kit from Crucial...This has been an expensive weekend, and it's only Saturday...Not a bad price, £64 with Monday delivery. hoping for a kick in performance as it's been running a little slow since ML...A fresh install didn't improve things, but judging from the posts here and elsewhere on the boards, the 16GB should give me a good return for my investment.

I've been very impressed with my MBP since upgrading to 16GB from the orignal stock 4GB.

Apps start significantly quicker too.

One thing for anyone considering buying online from Crucial's own website - I used discount code CRUCIALOCT to get 5% off (this was on the UK site, but I don't think the code is UK-specific!)
