Expensive, but it had to be done. You don't buy a $2,100 MacBook Pro and not have it insured.
lol
tim cook loves your reasoning
a $2,100 piece of equipment shouldn't need extra insurance against premature mechanical failure

I think you'll love Skyward Sword. I've had it since it came out, but need to finish it up.
This I would agree with. 10 months after my father bought his 2007 13" MB, the logic board failed. Had it not been under warranty, it would have been one expensive fix! But yes, for $2,100 apple should offer a 3yr warranty. However, US laws don't support that idea.I would argue that it should just have a 3 year warranty. It would make me much more inclined to buy an Apple portable. Every pro grade computer I purchase for my company (anywhere from 30 to 300 a year) have a 3 year warranty, typically with guaranteed American support. Mechanical parts are going to fail, regardless of brand, but one shouldn't have to scramble to come up with hundreds to repair a machine that is no longer under warranty after a year.
2007 MacBook Pro 17" High res
2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 8600M GT, 4GB RAM, 1920x1200. Pretty chuffed as I got it for £345 plus shipping, and it even has a new battery. Only issue is a mark on the screen from the keyboard which I can live with. Can't wait for it to arrive!
Nice! I still rock my 2008 MBP daily.
Sweet! How does it hold up ? The core 2 duo chips are starting to show their age but in all fairness I am coming from a 2.0GHz T7200 as my portable machine so should see an upgrade. Could always slap an SSD in at a later date too!

Wow! I thought I was the only one!
I rock my MBP, too...and if I sing a quiet lullaby to it, it goes to sleep!

Not sure this counts as a purchase, but my friend and I just signed our lease for an apartment starting July 30th! They told us if we sign before sunday, it would be $1,100 a month for a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment. Since that apartment complex is the preferred housing of the Colorado Rapids, I asked them about it, and they said if you work for the company that owns the team (Kroenke Sports & Entertainment), they give employees/players a 20% discount on the rent per month, so my buddy and I would be paying $880 a month for a 952 sq foot apartment! That's just $440 a month for each of us, plus utilities which will never be more than $100 a month!
Here's the floor plan!
