I find myself "liking" most of your purchases.

I still want a pair of these.

My last purchases:

The Uncharted dual pack (1 & 2). I have 3 and a friend told me you have to play them through, in order to really appreciate it. So that's what i'm going to do after I get done with The Last of Us (which is amazing, by the way).

And a Torx screwdriver set.. my current set is missing the T6, which is the one I need to replace my MBP HDD with an SSD.. the 1 screwdriver was actually more expensive than a whole new set, so I opted for the whole set, in case I end up losing any others.

Pretty much my building specs in my sig.

Final specs are:

Little Devil PC-V7 case
ASUS RoG Rampage IV Formula
Intel Core i7 3820
Nvidia EVGA Titan
Corsair Vengeance 16GB 2133 RAM
Samsung 256GB SSD (Boot and programs)
OWC Mercury Extreme 6G 480GB SSD (games)
Seasonic X750 Modular PSU with Psycho Sleeve cables
Blu-Ray Burner

Watercooling specs:

360mm EK XTX Rad
240mm EK XTS Rad
Phobya E-Loop 16RPM fans x6
AlphaCool D5 Pump
EK X-Res Res/PumpTop combo 240
EK Supremacy CPU Block
EK Titan GPU Block
EK Titan Backplate
Primochill tube
Monsoon fittings

GPU has yet to exceed 35c under load, and CPU has yet to break 50c under load - that's a combination of games and stress testers. Mostly hovers around 34c GPU and 48c CPU when gaming.

I'm hoping to put an extra 200mhz on my Titan, and I'm gonna try to get as close to 5GHz on the 3820 as I can - but it's a lottery. Though 4Ghz should be super easy, and 4.5Ghz is unquestionably in the realm of possibility.

iPhone Wallet from Black Anchor Workshop. Their customer service is second-to-none. I actually ordered the standard iPhone sleeve and they sent the wallet by mistake. I really didn't mind the mixup but they sent out an additional iPhone sleeve at no cost to cover the mistake.

In a coffee shop.
My most recent purchase (last week) was an 11" MBA, (refurb); for Apple lovers, the specs are as follows: it comes with a i7 Core, 8 GB RAM, and 256 GB SSD. Blazing fast, ultra portable and a beautifully solid MBA. While the older model had the lovely little covert cover for the USB slot (very elegant), the newer model has two (rather visible) USB slots, which is most useful, and is better, frankly.

As it was bought on an impulse (I had to return abroad to work, and the CTO 13" MBA I had also ordered two weeks earlier was not going to be ready on time - never mind, it'll be waiting for me when I next return home, along with its own BookBook sleeve), I didn't have time to get a BookBook leather sleeve for it, but shall do so when I next return home.

Earlier purchases (that is, a week earlier) included an iPad mini (also refurb); again, for the tech lovers, the specs are as follows: 4 generation, 64GB, with wifi and cellular capacities. At the time I also bought a Logitech keyboard to go with it, and had the wit to order a BookBook sleeve for it.

Prior to my return home, while colleagues had expressed the idea - strongly - to me that I should consider purchasing an iPad - (especially the mini; indeed, one kind colleague had even come up to my office to demonstrate the Logitech keyboard on the mini, and had sent me the links to the product along with reviews) - on my return, while the iPad received admiring comments, and the Logitech keyboard evident fascination, most of the awestruck admiration was reserved for its beautiful BookBook sleeve. Requests were made for details, and some scurried off to their own computers to investigate the matter further.

Now, of course, the point of this tale is that I would never have come across - or known about, or, ever, ever heard of - this charming BookBook company if I had not been browsing these fora for years. Really, it is sometimes an utter mine of information.

Meanwhile, the MBA is an absolute joy and pleasure to use; the only thing I am struggling with are the trackpad gestures, as such things are not really all that intuitive to me........actually, while I really love my new MBA, (the speed of response is stunning, and the difference between it and the work machines can be measured in light years; my old MBA, three years old, easily outpaced them in everything - this one blitzes them), I must say that I rather miss the old style space bar....

A big block of text in a picture thread?

I don't have a digital camera. Nor, in fact, do I have the slightest idea how to work one, or transfer digital data to a computer. I use film, which - of course - cannot be posted here.

Besides, I like to craft sentences write and to read the stories and tales that others have written......for, every purchase tells a story, and stories are interesting, sometimes more so than a mere image.

Back on topic, you might care to enlighten us as to whether you have recenty boght anything of interest?

Pre ordered GTA5! Hopefully after 5 years and more than $130 million, Rockstar can make this a good one. After watching the gameplay video I'd say it looks amazing.

Chia seeds to try in my salads and smoothies, along with some new supplements. Also picked up a nano for the gym.

I find chia seeds to be better than flax seeds. Also, they have a longer shelf life and are better for you, according to the nutritional info. I only put them in protein shakes though.

What is the deal with the shoes? Are they rare?

How very clever of you to spot this. I am most impressed. For that is exactly what I am - a smart intellectual type....Actually, once upon a time, I used to be a college professor.....

And I am perfectly capable of 'figuring out' the distinction between interesting and informative posts, those worth reading and savouring, and loud patronising posts (an excessive use of capital letters is somewhat deafening, in a virtual sense, kind of like shouting...don't you think?)

Anyway, your map frame is very nice.

Hoping to take some glamor pics in the coming days - still have some work to do with the wire management and general cleanup. But after several months of planning, ordering, building, ordering again, and building some more - as well as a pretty decent hit to my wallet - my new gaming rig came alive today! :D

Image

Glad to see another person that's into water cooling gaming rigs. Your build looks sweet!!!

I've been planning my RIVE 4930k update in a couple months, but I've been actively purchasing things this month (pics below). I'll be using the monitors and GTX 780's without the EK waterblocks in my current rig:
https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/14478529/

I'll install the blocks when I do my actual update in September. I'm just waiting for Ivy Bridge-e to come out.

Water cooling isn't cheap... so I know what you mean on your wallet taking a big hit. I usually talk people out of getting into water cooling... who ask me what they need to get into it. Once they jump into water cooling... it's hard to get out.:p

Taking the doggie to the beach for her first time. Everything will be great for our hikes or any walking on pavement in the summer as well. I'm randomly excited.

Just took a look at the pics of your rig, and am now checking out your log on OCN - I've got one over there, too. Incredibly nice, man! It looks amazing.

Gotta say - the SLI 780s is gonna be beastly. I'm definitely a bit jealous - I just prefer the simplicity of a single card; I tried SLI'ing my 670 for a bit - just didn't feel quite as smooth. All preference, though - regardless, you'll get the better frames in the end ;p

And yeah - this was my very first watercooling build. I cussed and screamed - and many times, swore up and down I'd never do another water cooled build again. There was no way the end result would be worth the frustration. But boy, now that I've got it all set up, and it's slicing through everything while staying cool and quiet - I'm already obsessing over how I can do even better next time.

Good luck with your upgrades!

I give it a 6 on the Pixar scale.
The Incredibles = 10
Cars 2 = 1

It seems everyone Hated Brave and Cars 2. I liked Brave a lot. Cars 2 was not great but I thought it was enjoyable. I saw the newest Ice Age and thought that was unbearable to sit through. (I work for a summer camp in my spare time haha)

Thanks... very excited for September to get here. I just noticed you are on OCN too... and I looked at your build log thread. The one picture you posted here doesn't really show how much thought and work you put into your build. Very nice work!!!

I am disappointed in the current gen bike computers as I want to see more information from my phone yet, especially as nice mounts for non-iphones are all but non-existent. This will at least display maps, incoming calls and play music through my phone while its in my bike bag.

We don't take too kindly to people like you round here parts. j/k but in all seriousness, the "rules" of the game are clear as day. One must include a visual picture. It makes it more fun, like reading a children's picture book.
