Awesome TV. I bought a 70" Sharp LED 2 years ago, looking to upgrade to the 4K version. How does it compare to Samsungs or LGs?
I replaced a 60" Samsung 1080p LED Smart TV (I'll have to check the model # later) in the living room, well actually I moved it to the bedroom and the 51" LG in the bedroom gets moved to the spare guest bedroom.
I really liked the Samsung, never used any of the smart features and I'll probably never use any of them on the new TV. I just want a large screen dumb TV that I can connect all my stuff in to.
The Sharp has android tv built-in, I toyed around with it the 1st night but I prefer the new aTV even if it isn't 4k - it's looks great on the new bigger screen.
I did some digging around to find more ideal calibrated settings, which I did with the Samsung also, to tone down the default settings and the picture looks much better and more realistic now. The colors and saturation is tuned to look super vibrant and pop out of the screen and that just doesn't do it for me, some shows look fine then the next one the greens and reds almost look fluorescent.
I wasn't looking for the best TV on the market and I didn't want to spend much over $2k, I just wanted a good looking TV that was larger than the one I currently had and I didn't want to go from 60"-65", it was 70"+ or wait.
Plus I wanted to purchase a new AV Receiver with 4k to be able to enjoy the picture with my audio system so I splurged a little on that. Overall I'm happy with both items, the TV for sure, the store I was at didn't have the particular Receiver I wanted so I felt a little rushed when choosing the one I got. I have a 45 day return policy so I'll do a little researching. I ws leaning towards one of the 7.2 Pioneer receivers, VSX1130k.
