I ordered another fountain pen, this one from India. It's called the ASA Galactic. It's an "eyedropper" pen and holds a crazy amount of ink.

I love demonstrators, always think they look great with a really bright ink. Have some Sheaffer Turquoise and Diamine Autumn Oak (similar to Noodler's Apache Sunset, not sure if you're familiar with it) in two TWSBIs at the moment.

I wish you many happy with your new pen!
I think I am one of the few collectors/users of fountain pens who prefer a Medium nib to Fine or Extra Fine. Nowdays I prefer Montblanc, Pelikan, Sailor and Platinum from the Japanese makes.

But my all time favorite has been (now in the drawer) the Parker Falcon. The most wonderful, original fountain pen I have ever used.

Hopefully this post will merge with my previous one - but I didn't realise that there were so many fountain pen users on MR!

That Falcon is beautiful - my latest purchase (well, it was a gift) was a Parker 75.

I have a Pilot Prera and a Custom Heritage 92 so I can understand your preference there. I think I might save up for a Nakaya...

Yeah, I have a TWSBI 580 and a VAC700 too. They are wonderful pens for the money and write very very well.

I like very much Japanese pens (and watches ;)).
Yes, there are some models that are quite affordable compared to some of the European "fashionable" fountain pens.

P.S.: Most interestingly I prefer the Meisterstück series. I bought the first models in the '90s.

As do I. These days, - and for the past few years - ever since I discovered just exactly how superbly good they are and how well they have been designed, I use nothing else for writing.

New Year... More Shaws and...

Apparently, The Drug Addicts (1974) is a (then) modern era version of Opium and the Kung Fu Master (1984) which I quite enjoy. It's also David Chiang's directorial debut. I'm curious to see if Ti Lung can pull off playing a Kung fu master under the influence here as superbly as he did in Opium...

Lady Assassin
looks ridiculously fun.

Young Lovers on Flying Wheels (1974)
This is one of two films Ti Lung directed and I honestly have no idea what to expect, except when it came to Shaws' making (then) modern films they were either quite good or delightfully goofy.

and the Thai all region dvd of Kung Fu Instructor. Sun Chung's tweak on Yojimbo with the good and just title character being manipulated by two clans. Tong Gai's choreography is superb here and Ti Lung rises to every challenge thrown at him (martial arts and dramatic.) Double bonus: region free NTSC.

Used an Amazon gift card to replace: The Roving Swordsman IVL dvd, and buy: Spooky Encounters blu ray because I need a good laugh.

Well, my last purchase was a a large bag of blood oranges, and a fetching mix of cheeses. One was French, - a slice of Camembert; there was also a splendid British cheese - a generous chunk of good old Stilton, an aged Dutch goat's Gouda, some Italian Gorgonzola, and - the sole cheese not from the EU, the superb Etivaz (sometimes spelt "L'Etivaz") from Switzerland. (A hint: It is better than Gruyere, and better also than Emmenthal). Some French bread to accompany them. And some bottles of wine, naturally enough.

Modest and arrogant? I prefer to think 'cool and understated'. But - as long as it suits your colouring - it goes with absolutely everything. And the plainer, the better. I am not a fan of logos.
I would say all those define black well. I agree with you though. I've been leaning a lot more towards that very simple but clean look. I love blacks, whites, and greys. The plainer, the better.
