Vinglace had a flash sale the other day. Bought several wine “yetis” for the house and to give as gifts.

just bought an ipod classic 5.5 with the wolfson chip, the best dac of any ipod.

So do you only listen to FLAC? Just wondering what difference the DAC makes with mp3s. I used to be into higher end audio, but as I get older, I can’t tell the difference or just don’t care.

Well from what I gather the 5.5 was popular with audiophiles because of the wolfson chip, but the newer 7th gen is said to sound just as good and has bigger gb options.
Most of my music collection is in flac so I will probably have to convert it to mp3 for the ipod.

I could not resist putting this classic Peanuts comic strip up on a wall in my bedroom. I wonder how much a comic strip actually signed by the late Charles Schulz is worth? Though I once seen a biography on Schulz and he said that he rarely ever personally signed any of his work. Of course he signed his work that was massed run, but that isn't the same as him personally signing a copy.

what's your headphone set up? i'm guessing that's more of a limitation than the DAC. i'm asking because i have no clue. these days, i listen to 320 mp3 with beats headphones. would love to get back into a nicer setup, but i can't justify spending a couple thousand for almost imperceivable improvements in my case.

I have a pair of RHA ma600i, in-ears.
I know what you mean about not wanting to spend thousands, it is easily done.
well I am no expert and the little bit I do know was all from the Head-Fi forums.

These are pretty nice lowball glasses. I use them for an Old Fashioned.

They’re not luxury crystal but they’re a nice weight, quality, and price. I haven’t had them long to speak about their durability. (The cleaning cloth is very unimpressive. Glass clothes are easy to find.)

I don’t like to drink out of crystal because too many drunk asses at my house including myself. I have a bunch of glassware with the name of my “home bar” on them. But I hardly use those. I prefer the 10oz yeti lowball. Keeps things cool in the warmer months and they are basically indestructible. :)

Indestructible...you’re playing my song.

On the phone earlier this morning, (as the online order didn't go through last night), and have ordered several tubes of Kalles Kaviar and Mills Kaviar from ScandiKitchen.

Then, having visited the doctor and the pharmacist, (for myself and my mother), other purchases included beer (Trappistes Rochefort 8 & 10, St Bernardus 12, Lervig Three Bean, and a few other seductive stouts, the acquaintance of which, I have yet to make), cheeses, kefir, artisan sausages from the chap who makes them, organic tomatoes and organic plums.

Oh, and organic lemon juice from Italy.

why not just buy fresh lemons?

I do. And shall do so again tomorrow in the farmers' market.

For that matter, there is almost always a bowl full of (organic) citrus fruit in the kitchen which is tucked into, and devoured by, yours truly on a daily basis.

But sometimes, (as happened yesterday on my return late the previous night from the Balkans) I find that there are none whatsoever in the house and I am currently incubating a heavy head and chest cold. That is when a bottle of (good quality) lemon juice to hand can turn out to be very useful.

No tequila.

I rarely touch spirits, even when well; my preferred poisons of an alcoholic nature come in the form of wine and beer.

But lemon juice, delicious honey (I was given gifts of jars of honey from the beehives in the yard of the house of my interpreter's mother) and perhaps a little pomegranate molasses will make for a lovely hot drink.
[doublepost=1539353335][/doublepost]Other purchases included organic socks from the Greenfibres company.

When I phoned just now, they recognised my voice, (and name) immediately, and chirruped cheerfully, "oh, you're the one who is always going to those mad countries".
