Needed new speakers to go with my new LG 34UM95, so decided on these with the matching stands.

The Audio Engine speakers are amazing. I have a pair of them in white and use the built in DAC. They sound like way bigger speakers than what they are. Ill probably still add a sub eventually.

That's quite a piece, I see that you are "Old School", but big advantage, no problem jammin' at the wrong moment.
Hehe, yeah, it'd make Dirty Harry proud!

However, this isn't the type I'd carry around with me, too big, i.e. uncomfortable, and far too powerful - high risk of collateral damage, and unintended targets.

I have a small .40 semi auto that I carry around when I think there might be a possibility that I could need it. That all depends on where I my destination might be. Thankfully, that's very rare and I almost never carry anything.

This Raging Bull is really more of a conversation piece than anything else.

For my 12 year old Granddaughter for her birthday.:)

The Hello Kitty is a case for the phone.

I do hope she likes it.

What a lovely and thoughtful present. Let us know how the recipient likes it and wish her a happy birthday.

Yes, I tend to rather like such 'old school' things myself.

Interesting post.

I purchased a TERTIAL Work Lamp for $8.99 from Ikea, and a Conserve Energy PAR30 LED spot light bulb on sale for $7.99 at Costco. I'm using it as a bedside reading lamp. It's very bright and only uses 13 watts, but gives 75 watts of light output compared to an incandescent bulb. I'm using a Leviton inline dimmer just in case I'm not in the mood for the intense brightness.

decided to add a few gadgets to the home theater. going to start putting my blurays on my personal cloud and stream them via the WD TV. Also got a 5 port switch to add a few devices via cable vs wireless.

Had these delivered while out of town

- 3 64GB Apple TVs
- 1 Beats Pill +
- 1 Steel Series Nimbus controller
- 1 Philips Hue HomeKit Base
- 1 Kangertech Subbox Mini White Edition

The Apple TVs are great. Will probably get the wrist straps and possibly a couple more controllers this weekend.

For $250 I'm extremely satisfied with the TV. The picture can't compare to more expensive sets but I can't complain. The colors seem a bit oversaturated but overall I like it a lot. I would definitely buy again.

To a certain degree a TV is a TV. Most TV's come out of the box as garbage until you calibrate it. Most inputs you setup are showing video at 1080i or 720p. I'd rather have a well calibrated $250 TV, then a $1000 4k TV that I'd still have to calibrate and is still showing 1080i or 720p content.

I'll be looking at this set tonight.
