I suppose I'd best ask the obvious question: Why two?

The Powerbook is my old laptop. I still use it (though it's rather slow) and would not get any money for selling it. I keep it around for guest use, occasional personal use and to run torrent clients on. I also took it traveling before I received my iPad, since I didn't mind it getting beat up.

Still love those Dell Monitors - I have the 2004WFP 20" model. I'm hoping the one's from last year (black bezel) support MiniDP connection with 1080P support. Either that or I'll have to go with an HP announced 2mths ago.

Yes, I absolutely love these Dell Monitors. I was actually looking for a second one and could not find the same 24" monitor. I hope Dell did not discontinue it. Mine is the Dell 2408WFP, I was hoping to find a 2409WFP, but had no luck. None of their displays showed to be the same design as my current one either, a little disappointing.

I wish I could have such a clean setup.

Thanks! And to clarify it's a 15" Powerbook, the wide angle may have made it seem to be a 17".

Some recent updates to my office. Looking to upgrade my iMac with one of the aluminum versions soon.

holy carp! thats awsome!

did they ask permission?

I posted it in the life hacker pool a couple months ago so I think that was all they needed. I was getting a ton of hits on it the last several hours and checked around and saw it as the first post on their home page.

I will be sharing a picture tomorrow. I just sold my iMac to my neighbor tonight and bought a new MBP and I have a big awkward gap where my iMac was and my external screen hangs about a foot in front of my MBP....Pictures to come once its reorganized!

Nice !! Clean productive looking set up.

Which ipad Case / Stand is that?

Where did you buy the desk?

Thanks! The case is just the oem apple iPad case with an eraser propping it up ;). The desk I got from a local furniture manufacturer here in Vancouver called InSpiration, not sure if they are outside metro van.

I'm not so sure of that actually. I've sold two 1.25GHz PowerBook G4's: last year I sold one for $400, and this year I sold the other one for $380. What are the specs of yours? I'd be willing to bet you could get at least $250 for it (assuming there's nothing wrong with it).

And BTW, what's the point of having a newer MBP if you're not going to travel with it? You're putting that great battery to waste! ;)

Here's my current setup :D

I'd sell have to sell it for over 500 to consider selling it. It's nice having an extra laptop around for those special occasions. It's pretty banged up, so I doubt I'd get even 200. It's 1.33 GHz with 1.5 GB of ram I believe. I do travel with my newer MBP now if I need a laptop. This was mainly when I first got the new MBP and I was babying it :) My MBP battery lasts less than an hour though, time to get a new one.

Some of these iMac setups make me wish I got the 27" iMac rather than the 15' MacBook Pro. :D

New Desk

I went down to iKea to pick up a new piece of furniture and came back with this one, I was overdue for a new one. Just moved everything around, so it's still a bit messy.

27" i5
15" 2.53
750 GB My Book
500 GB My Book
Logitech MX Revolution (for the wife)
Great Sound System - Klipsch RB-3, RCX3, RS10, and RW8 powered by Yamaha RXV-659
Need to go to the store and get a longer ethernet cable to clean up the wiring between the TV and the Desk.

I too thought it would be useful to have a PowerBook laying around for travel, but then I solved all my problems by buying a netbook (an iPad is much too crippled for my liking).

I'm guessing you have a first-gen unibody then (the ones without the built-in battery)? That's too bad it died so soon. The battery in my 2.16GHz MBP is also nearly dead, and I realized I could either buy another battery for $130 that would give three hours of battery (and being an Apple battery would likely die in a year), or I could spend $260 on a netbook that would give me six hours of battery and basically a free computer. Needless to say, the netbook won out :p

made some little improvements to my desk, so I'll post it again.
new apple remote for the universal dock. it's so beautiful and small!
new moshi mouse pad. it's very smooth, even if it's not completely flattened due to its retail package  (moshi sells it rolled)
serious cable management under the desk: you can't see it, but i've wrapped all the cables together. It's a lot nicer under the desk now! I've also found on ebay a USB cable extender (they're are bundled with mac pros) and i'm using it to connect the usb hub that i've glued under the desk. the cable that is connected to the iPhone comes from there
Anyway, full gadget list:
MacBook Air "mid 2009" (2.13GHz, 128GB SSD)
iPhone 3G (8GB)
Magic Mouse (with BetterTouchTool installed on the system, obviously )
Apple "Unibody" Remote
Moshi Shieldpad (White)
Lacie USB Speakers (MBA's speaker is just terrible, even for a youtube video or a TV show episode!)
Ikea Desk Lamp (it's a TERTIAL)
Ikea Plant (it's so cute and it doesn't require so much water ;) )
