Because the forum software has trouble with threads over 2000 posts, so ongoing threads get split into new parts around that point.

vBulletin has a problem with any kind of large database, too. It is very annoying.

I think they've pretty much fired all of Jelsoft, too, so getting things fixed with them is nigh on impossible. First you have to get them to understand what the devil you're talking about, then you have to threaten to show up at their headquarters before anything happens.

It is very annoying, indeed.

Here's my current setup. My camera isn't doing my cute little sidelights justice though...

Where did you get that chair. If you have the link please link it in here. I know many people would like one.

I got it from Ikea. Here is the link to the UK Ikea site:
http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20103101

Not sure if it is available internationally but I can't see any reason why not.

It's a really nice chair and I especially like the excellent lumbar support and useful headrest (I'm 5ft10 so YMMV). The breathable backrest is also good to avoid a sweaty back if sitting for a while.

Edit: Just checked, the Orlando Ikea store has 15 of these chairs in stock at $199 each. :)

I like that desk. Who is it by?

What calderone said ^^^^^^ ( thanks calderone ) :)

It's a pretty sturdy table and beautiful when all nicely cleaned and oiled. Yes I use mild detergent to clean it and then apply a very light coat of baby oil or similar to give it a nice finish. The oil is applied and then wiped back off with a cloth so doesn't stain clothes etc. Only downside is that it tends to scratch quite easily so make sure you have rubber feet on everything. Also, carbonated drinks cause a nasty stain if left on the surface. I had a drop of cola on mine once and it almost seemed to eat into the surface slightly. Makes you think twice about drinking the stuff!!

Craig.

In the process of moving so my setup is located squarely on my coffee table. Will post new pic once I am moved into my new place and set up the office.
Not shown in photo is the mountain of boxes just to the left.:D

Are those guinea pigs in the 'cage' on the right? I love guinea pigs, as you can probably tell.... ;) My actual avatar is of my brother's guinea pig. She's about 3/4 years old and such a cutie :D

iPad as an excellent calculator? Only if you're doing 4th, 5th, 6th grade maths and even so, shame on you. Ho there's spacetime and pocket cas, well they're crap.

*Facepalm*

Want a real calculator?
Install matlab/mathematica on your laptop.

Oh the iPad...
Well trow it away.

I nominate the above post to win the "most-retarded-comment-award"

The last part doesn't make any sense, but the poster IS right that "ultimate" usage of an Apple product for calculator usage is hardly the iPad--rather, MATLAB or Mathematica on OS X. Actually, for that matter, the Grapher app in OS X is remarkably good, too.

My 27" iMac has arrived! It replaces a 15" MacBook Pro. I am loving it so far. It's only been about 2.5 hours so far still getting everything moved back over and setting things up to my liking (hence the external hd in the back left).

I am thinking about just giving this wireless keyboard over to the iPad, since I have the wired version with numeric keypad sitting outside of the shot. I also want to get a Magic Trackpad, as this Magic Mouse is the devil.

Oh yes, and I am using a small cutting board as a mousepad! It works well. The 17" SyncMaster to the right is a holdover from my old Power Mac G4 I had for years (still works but has been put to rest). It's fine for what I need it for, mainly extra auxiliary space for iTunes, Bridge, etc. Creature Speakers still going strong after all these years too.

Desk is a bit devoid of personality at the moment because I wanted a clean slate for when this beast arrived. Will add things back in the next week or so.

Well the cabinet that is under my macbook pro i rebuilt it cause it was the outer case to a old electric heater that looked like a fireplace that went out. i put a shelf in it and a floor then a back stuck my time capsule and my external hd in it so its all nice and neat. what do you guys recommend for cable management as mine is crazy with cables thought about using wire ties and bundling them together
