My new PowerMac G4 Cube, i needed a computer for my mom so i finaly had an excuse to buy a Cube, always wanted one. Paid 120€ for the Cube, keyboard and 17" Studio Display (complete with box!) and picked it up in person a few hours ago.

I'm Loving it, now i just need an Apple Pro Mouse and the Harmon Cardon USB Speakers to complete the set.

PS: this set up is temporary, this is my college dorm set up the cube is going to my home office.

What monitor is that?

This is just a temp setup, I'm home from college for break, and my room's a bit of a disaster since I've barely touched it after ripping it apart to get the stuff I needed for school

Anyhow, the setup:
15" late 2006 MacBook Pro, 23" ACD (bought for $35), Logitech diNovo keyboard, Logitech MX Revolution, iPad 1 16GB Wifi + 3G

Pics were taken with an iPod Touch, so excuse the crap quality

Where did you get the ACD for $35? I would love to come across that steal.

He probably got really lucky on craigslist or knew someone :D

Yea, I was thinking Craigslist but I've never seen an ACD under $200-250. Even the older white ACD's with the two pegs on the front go for over $150 where I'm at.

I'm just wondering if it was broken and he fixed it or something. That is the only reason, that I can see, it would be so cheap.

Me too. That's an awesome deal for $35

It was on Craigslist, it was advertised as being for parts/repair. I know a secret that allows me to repair these things for next to nothing. This is my second one, first cost me $100 :D

crappy shot of my desk setup:

2wr17rm.jpg

speakers above have been replaced with mackie mr5 studio monitors.
25" + 19" dual screen (will most likely be replaced by 27" ACD)

hackintosh:
sandy bridge i5-2500k.
128gb SSD drive + 1 TB caviar black x 2 drives.
8gb of g.skill rip jaws ram.
MSI GTX460 HAWK OC 1gb ram graphics card
ASUS P8P67 Evo Motherboard with USB3.0 support etc

housed in a fractal r3 case:

the hackintosh cost me about $800 last year (it would have cost me probably around 2000-3000 for a legitimate mac pro)

i also have a late 2008 aluminum macbook.

thanks.

the black shelf legs are from ikea yes. i think they were like $1.50 a piece or something.

the boards i just got from home depot and had them cut there to specific length/width. then i stained them and voila. super cheap shelving and easy installation.

my one regret is now i wish my main desk board had more depth to it but that can be easily replaced with another cheap board.

as for the ship, my parents got it for me ages ago from some remote island or something...

Yeah I was just about to say, your setup would be my ideal setup if the desk had a bit more depth for my boxier speakers.

yah thats exactly why i want more depth now too. i replaced those tiny speakers in the original photo with mackie studio monitors which are obviously way bigger and boxier.
