Working on a 15" display for several hours a day gets tiresome, atleast this is a more high-res 25" display with 2560x1440, thats why I got exactly this display due to a higher pixel density.

Yeah, I had been thinking about a higher resolution display, would love an Apple thunderbolt display for ease of use, but can't believe they are still priced so high!!

My current set up

My set up, still not as clean as I'd like, but it's a work in progress.
Old laptop used to rip cd and DVDs to iTunes, 22" samsung smart Tv, 21.5" samsung monitor, Mac mini i7 late 2012, iPod touch 2nd gen. Plus my old PS2 for some retro gaming :)

Slight update, added 5.1 surround via a freebie amp and a Bluray player ( bought today) and redecorated room and new shelving units. And a new chair.

EDIT - Ugh, I really need to get better lighting! These photos look awful... I will definitely try to get better ones soon. View these at a smaller size, and hopefully they give you an idea of the setup :D

Hendrik would be able to advise you on lighting. His setup is lit marvellously.
Sadly I don't even have a desk, Im set up on the dining table in our livingroom, bespoke lighting isn't possible!

New retina 5K iMac.
IMG_0135.JPG

Pictured:
2015 iMac 27" 5K 3.3GHz i5, 395, 16GB, 1TB SSD, magic keyboard, magic trackpad 2 and magic mouse 2.
2013 iMac 27" 3.5 GHz i7, 780M, 32GB, 1TB SSD, magic keyboard, magic mouse.
2013 retina Macbook Pro 13", 2.6GHz i5, 8GB, 512GB SSD.
iPad Air2 128GB.
Oh and you can just about see a Fujitsu scansnap behind to the left and some Bose speakers hiding behind the iMacs.

Not pictured: an HP colour laser jet of some description (I forget which, but it has AirPrint), apple watch sport 42mm, iPhone 6s 128GB (used to take photo), assorted family iOS devices (mostly phones and iPads), time capsules, and apple TVs.

The old iMac is only acting as a second display temporarily until it gets its own setup in the kitchen. Interesting observation is that El Cap handles the mix of retina and non-retina very well; my Windows 10 Pro VM in VMware Fusion 8, not so much. I'm still experimenting with settings, but single screen for the VM seems to be best right now.

There are some lovely setups here. I am thinking of pulling the trigger on a a new monitor soon and after going through this thread, I am deciding between the Dell U2415 and U2515. Those with the monitors, can you provide some insights/suggestions on which one would be better for Photoshop/Digital Art use?

It seems like the main difference is the higher pixel density on the U2515 versus the extra vertical pixels (16:10) on the U2415? I'm not sure which one would be best for my needs, mainly Photoshop/digital art?

16:9 verses 16:10 is a personal preference for photography. Personally if your going to just use one monitor I'd go with a 16:9 aspect ratio like on a 27" screen.
If you're going for a duel monitor set up, I'd go for a 16:10 ratio (like my NEC 241).

Hey!

I see you have two desks and the drawers in the middle, how stable is that ?

Hey! Yes, the desk on the right is my girlfriends. The construction is stable enough for my usage, not less stable than the same table with two legs instead of the drawers :)
