Yeah I don't get it, shouldn't they be updated before end of the month?
That was the consensus, but we're getting pretty late in the month. I feel that a silent update is still possible, but a keynote is seeming unlikely. If we don't have invites by the end of week I doubt we'll see an October event and I didn't think Apple typically had November events

Today is only the 17th, which is barely over half way through. It could still happen without much effort.

There's only one business week left after this one and the earnings call is not he 25th. I assume they'd give at least a week's notice. It's still possible, but every day that passes I get more skeptical. Of course, a November event is also possible.

No pics as it's not really anything to show off. I picked up a 21.5" iMac from a mate a few months ago. It's the base model of the 21.5" models, I've since added a 500Gb Samsung EVO SSD with OWC thermal sensor cable, 16gb RAM to take the total to 20, as well as adding the OSXWIFI kit to give it wireless ac and BT 4.0.

Currently running OSX Sierra from a fresh install with user data transferred from a Carbon Copy Clone backup. Unfortunately I still can't get continuity working with the upgraded BT/WIFI card. I've set up my watch to unlock it, that worked once, now it either asks for my password straight away, or says it's unlocking with the watch then asking for my password when that doesn't work.

How does ubuntu run on an older Pentium. and is that a dual core pentium or a pentium 4? lol
This isn't a Pentium 4,
It's a Pentium Dual Core E5500 based on Wolfdale Core 2 Duo from around 2010
But you know, about a year ago, my C2D rig died, so I used a old HP PC as my main machine, before I buyed the 17" iMac G5 (that you see on the picture) And this HP PC had a Pentium 4 HT@3GHz, a Radeon HD 3450 256Mb AGP and 4Gb of RAM, running Ubuntu 14.04 at dualscreen, and It worked flawlessly, so Ubuntu do run on Pentium 4, but you need to have a sufficent video card to run Unity
But I have to give this computer to my father (his old dell died)
So I took the PowerMac G5 out of the closet (and the iMac G5 :D)
I'm back at the Mac-only world :D
Still running strong (for a 12 years old computer)

Here's the specs:
PowerMac G5 June 2004: Dual 1.8GHz - Radeon 9600XT - 4Gb DDR - 1Tb HDD - Dell 2007FP 20" 1600x1200 - Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard & 10.4.11 Tiger
MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2009: Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz - GeForce 9400M - 6Gb DDR3 - 240Gb SSD - 13,3" 1280x800 - macOS 10.12 Sierra
iMac G5 Early 2005: G5 2GHz - Radeon 9600 - 2Gb DDR - 250Gb HDD - Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger (changed since the picture)

There's also a 24" 2006 white iMac boxed in the closet with a faulty video card which I have not replaced yet. Tried to reset the solder points in the oven to no avail. I'm thinking I'll hold onto that one and replace the GPU when prices *finally* leave Mars and get real. By then I'll have some little ones running around I'm sure, so that'll be a good "let the boogery sticky fingered rug rats have it" mac ;)

"That's one way to kick your credit card in the nuts."

Hahaha. That's one way to put it ;)

27" imac - 1600
Ipad Pro - 500
MacBook - 1200
Applepencil - 100
Accesory - 100
.07% Tax - 245

That's a $3,500 Apple kick to the CC's nuts. Then the state kicks your boys with $245 in tax. Then the CC kicks you squarely in the sack with a 15% interest rate of $562.00 on top of the $3,745. I Hope all of that was a depreciated tax write off for your business. :)

But if you look at his signature, he purchased the high-end models. That's like $4,000 for the iMac, $3000 for MacBook Pro, $1000 for the iPhone 7, $1000 for the iPad Pr, $500 for the Apple Watch, etc.

Very true. Yanno, if ya got the $$$, that's a great way to spend it :D It will last him a long while and be very useful I'm sure.
