How do you think he has his MBP connected to both monitors when it's obvious from the photos that there are no cables connected to the MBP?! I didn't know the new models came with wireless monitor capabilities! Also, from the XP theme/scheme it's pretty obvious that the LCDs are connected to his IBM tower.
Maybe its just me, but I think a simple "They are probably running off the Windows machine next to the desk" would have sufficed. No need to get all snarky about it.

I didn't realise I was being 'snarky'. Some people are obviously way too easily offended.

Sweet, I just had the same experience. Any gradient issues? Left side brighter than right side?

No, everything works perfectly, computer starts in seconds, absolutely silent, really fast - apps open instantly, the display is amazing - I don't see any reflections; Photoshop test - iMac is faster then my old Quad g5 with 4.5 gb ram!

This is my best Mac machine ;)

Well, how is the speed overall for you? My previous computer was a 2GHz Core Duo Thinkpad, and it's been great so far.

I can't stand the white color, it makes it look less professional IMHO. Black is a little rarer and more suave. What do you think about the whole white/black debate?

EDIT: Oh, and QCassidy, mine is used. Just FYI. I am not pissed about the updates!

My previous computer was a 2 ghz core duo macbook. It's white, and I do prefer the black.

Mine is a refurb - I bought it because of the updates. The price on refurbs dropped so much, and I don't see much difference between the machine I got and the new one, for $450 more.

It came without the leopard discs :( but I called, and they are sending me discs. And it did come with an extra gig of RAM! :D

That's nice:D

Loving mine so far, it boots from pressing the power button to fully functioning desktop with Airport connected and everything loaded in nineteen or twenty seconds- faster than a new Mac Pro. I may get another gig or three of RAM for it, seeing as it only has one now. Will it help me at all? I once ran with 1.5GB on a dual 800MHz Power Mac G4 under Leopard and it was buttery smooth. So, with the fast processor of the MacBook, even if I only do light Photoshop and Audacity stuff, will 2GB or 4GB of RAM be a good thing to get??

Well, everyone, I will post my setup on Tuesday evening. A black MacBook sitting on a shag rug isn't really much to look at. I can't wait to set it up once I get to my dad's house!

Why are you shutting down your MacBook..?

Last time I posted a pic of my setup, we were still on Part 1 of the thread.

Here's my simple setup. Not much has changed. My exgf gave me this monitor today. That was nice of her.

IMG_1057.jpg

2.33ghz MBP, MiniStack (kept it after I sold my Mini), 19" HP LCD, Creatures, USB Keyboard (I've still got my multicolored FCP BT Keyboard that got so many compliments in the old setup thread), and 8GB Nano.

Nice clean setup, and very well lit (or perhaps the light colored wall/wood make it appear as such). Thanks for sharing. :)

saxondale, I love the wood! It looks like a really cool room.

I wasn't offended in the slightest. But, judging by the question, it seems readily apparent, to me at least, that the person didn't understand. And, instead of just simply answering with a real answer, you made a bunch of silly remarks. It wasn't me who might have been offended. But the person you were mocking, maybe.

Also, note that no one made any silly comments when you called it an "IBM tower" in your reply. Since when does IBM make towers anymore? And, when did they start making them with LED lights all over, and huge lighted fans? See, we could have just as easily done the same, and poked fun at you. But we didn't, because it is rude.

Not much has changed since I last posted... I put the iMac were God intended it to be: right in front of me. Sideways is quite uncomfortable..

I also added a new member to the growing Apple family: an 8GB iPod Touch. Great little device, and I haven't hacked it yet. Most likely won't with SDK a week or so away.

My setup:

Not a fan of Apple Mice and prefer Apple Pro Keyboard over new Alu. Apart from that, it's all good :)

PS: The wallpaper is not as blinding as in the pic.

Dude, is that monitor wall mounted on stucco? Didn't think that could be done....

Setup looks good though -- nice and Appley white.

Oh there's no wall mount, although I did think about a way of mounting across the corner to get to how it looks now. It's simply sat on a small riser with the MB screen hiding that and the ACD stand. I cheated :D
