How much are those dell monitors you have?

I'm tempted to get one and run my powerbook in desktop mode or use 2 monitors.

I have an extra viewsonic monitor from a while ago, but it's square and looks horrible especially with the powerbook screen resolution.

I paid $375 for mine. It's really a huge improvement over the Powerbook's display. In fact, when I first plugged it in side by side with the PB, I was thinking of returning it, because it was so much brighter and the colors were so much more vibrant- I thought it was broken! :p
Rockin' the PPC Mac, nice OP

Those are starting to get rare(r) on MR these days!

Those of us who keep them know what y'all are missing out on! :D

Oh, BTW, I rearranged my setup once more. I really don't know why I keep doing this. I think the previous version, with just the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and Creatures, wasn't cluttered enough. I'm not used to displays this big, so I moved some peripherals up here.

The Seagate drive rarely makes an appearance, except for when I might be getting a new computer I'm not going to tell you guys what, because that might jinx it.

I really don't know what the hell is wrong with my camera. Whatever, you get the idea. :p

I agree about Dell displays–I've got two 20" hooked up to my Mac Pro. Decent screen, decent price, and they work for me. Apple's might have a slightly better screen and look nicer, but they're also a lot more expensive. :(

Two things:
1) Since the display is all aluminum, wouldn't an ACD weigh a friggin' ton?
2) I really like the stand on the Dells, how it's all angular.

This setup is much neater, have you ever thought about getting an L desk?

Here is my messy setup,

Id like to replace the two amps with a bose Companion 3 speaker set, and another monitor (with one of those boxes that lets you attach 2+ monitors to a MBP, but that is a little far off for the time being.

1. Actually, not really. Aluminum is very light, you're thinking of steel or other metals.
2. I don't mind either stand, but you're right, the Dell stand is nice. The higher-end models have better stands though.

Yep, Aluminum is VERY light-weight.

Ok cool just as long as your not trading your dell monitor then that seems decent. Also The g5 you might be getting seems really nice best of luck to you.
Thanks! I just learned it's got a 256MB Radeon 9880 Pro, plus AP and Bluetooth. Yay! Perhaps I'll get it when my dad lets me back into my own house.

My setup is basically two desks arranged in an L shape, so.... yeah.

My setup is two desks put together, but I would still very much appreciate a one piece L desk.

I am thinking about getting that BT keyboard, about how often do you need to change the batteries?

my first set (the ones apple shipped with it) last me a little less than 4 months.

I replaced them around the first of april and they are at 72% now, of course they were old crap batteries I replaced them with!

I cant complain...

I have had the same experience with mine I highly recommend the BT MM and Keyboard.

I was looking at that display on their site today. I think I may pick one up. Looks nice.

I agree, go with the mouse before the keyboard (or some wireless mouse) because the lack of a wire on that will be a lot more convenient than the keyboard...

Question. Is it hard to set up an external display to a macbook?

Here is my set up. It is a bit plain until I get a desk up in my room. Sorry about the crappy camera.
