I would post my set up but it's looking pretty bad at the moment. I have a very bad OCD and it's driving me nuts having all this crap on it but I am too tired to move it all.

There is a picture of my set up here somewhere but I have moved the screens around in different places. I'll find it for you.

EDIT: Can't find it, tomorrow if it's decent lighting I'll get some new shots.

My friend and I just moved into our apartment at college. His dad has a friend who said he could build our desks for us for a lot cheaper than we could buy them. I *really* like how they turned out!

... and then, I have a small, cheap desk for my laptop in my bedroom.

Just got back from IKEA with a ton of stuff! First time I've redone my room in years.

I know the room looks kind of bare now, but I'll be painting in a week and I'll post pictures then. Also, I wanted to get the TV stand in black, but IKEA only had birch in stock. Do you guys think the birch stand looks okay with the black desk?
Pictured:

3.06Ghz iMac 24", 2GB RAM, 500GB HD, 8800GS 512
1.0Ghz PowerBook G4, 768MB RAM, 60GB HD
2.0Ghz Mac Mini, 1GB RAM, 120GB HD (Latest gen)
Xbox 360 Core
Xbox
Sony TiVo
PlayStation 1
IKEA Mikael Desk
IKEA Lack TV Stand
IKEA Lerberg Shelves

My cables are managed by the IKEA Signum, which I have mounted behind the white board on my desk.

Just got a classic MBP to replace my white MacBook.

IMG_4249 (2).jpg

Left to right:

1st gen iPod touch 16 GB, 2nd gen iPod shuffle 1 GB, MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz SantaRosa on an old MacAlly stand (so old it was designed for TiBooks lol), Razer Copperhead mouse.

Hoping to get a large Razer mouse pad next :)

Got it :D

Next on the buy list is a new laptop stand that doesn't block the DVD drive and doesn't require books to be placed under it for optimal laptop and screen angle :eek:

is the second LSD is a TV? Just wondering what's the difference between normal TV LSC and computer LSD

Firstly, you mean LCD, not LSD or LSC.

In that post, the second screen is clearly a TV (HDTV to be exact). The differences between computer LCDs and HDTVs is usually:

- HDTVs have a bigger physical size, but top out at 1920x1080 (1080p) resolution currently. They're also at the 16:9 ratio.
- Computer monitors are usually smaller, but pack higher resolutions. Apple use 1680x1050 (20"), 1920x1200 (23/24") and 2560x1600 (30") in their computer screens. This means computers have a higher PPI (Pixels Per Inch) rating, allowing more to be fitted on screen. Computer LCDs are usually 16:10 ratio.
- HDTVs usually have more inputs - it's quite common to see 3+ HDMI ports, VGA/DVI, Component, RCA and SCART these days. Computer monitors may have one, or sometimes up to three of these.

Nice desk you have there txhockey, especially the X-es.

Love your desk! Where'd you get it? :)

Thanks, I had an old silver and glass desk, but the keyboard tray shattered, and the support rod snapped, so I figured it was time for a new one. It is a Crate and Barrel Spotlight with Bisley file cabinets on both sides.. I actually got lucky because I had a 94" desk alcove, and I have about one extra inch on each side. I was trying out a new cable management system, but I still want to get a box for the bottom. I used this, this, and these odd scrunch type things that are basically black rubbery spirals around 3 inches long. I used the flexible plastic shell for the cords going down, and the velcro ties for the cables that went from computer to component that were too long, and the scrunch type things for keeping the cords coming out of my monitor more organized, as well as holding my cords to the desk that go to my MBP.

I attached more pictures of the desk, file cabinet, and cable management.

I hope that's not a 17 inch MBP because that mouse pad is bigger than it. I don't even have room for that on my desk. I did just get the wires cleaned up and added a second power strip. I don't even have to get up to turn the light on and off.

Before

Now: (Yes that is a floppy disk on the floor) Those cables run to the bed

Finally, here's some pictures of my setup. Quite simply, but my mastery in cable management does make it look quite nice.

Desk: IKEA Galant
Monitor: Dell 2007FPW
Laptop: Unibody MB, 2,4GHz, 4GB RAM, 60GB SSD
Desktop: Self-built in Lian-Li PCB-25 case, AMD 920BE, 8GB RAM, 2x320GB HDD in RAID0
Speakers: Empire 5.1. Not excellent quality, but they do their job as a temporary solution
Amp: VOX Valvetronix VT-50
Guitar: Les Paul Custom

EDIT: Damnit, pics are messed up again. It's impossible to know when to flip these things when they appear correct in both Preview and Photoshop! And sorry for the low quality, my iPhone is the only camera available at the moment.

I just got that same TV for my laptop external!

Is it the 24"? Did you just get it? if so, did you buy it at Sams Club by chance?

Haha! It is 24", I did just get it, AND I did buy it at Sam's Club. I think it was the last one they had for that special price or whatever it was. I absolutely love it.

Just moved into some brand new dorms at Mizzou and my setup is pretty much how I want it. Just need to clean up a few areas and get a few more things settled in.

These pics are just a few quick ones I took with my phone in somewhat low light (hence the not-so-good quality). I'll take some new ones when my other camera charges and I find the cable.

I saw the BlueLounge Cable Box on some setups, so I grabbed one...

Nice. The LAN cables are next.

Inside the box: 8 port power strip
AEBS power brick
ASA5505 power brick
Cable Modem power brick
2x WD external HDD power bricks
excess coax cable from the wall to my UPS

It's tight in there, but if I tried I could fit more.
