hmm, since you can't add images to an edit, a new post. This is my current setup since moving to Europe. My desk is also never this clean. Threw everything on the floor for now.

Of course it's all IKEA stuff. Too poor to buy other furniture and not worth it at the moment.

What's funky about my new place is the floorboards. Got to be from the beginnging of the century or something. They're really squeaky though.

Specs:
The MBP in my signature
External HD - OWC Mercury Elite Pro 250 GB
60GB video iPod 5G
2G Shuffle

I believe you CAN add pics to a older post, you just have to go "advance" So before you go calling others noobs and being rude, you may want to figure that out:rolleyes:

Well I finally got around to snapping a pic of my current setup:

C2D iMac, 3 partitions:
- Tiger (iTunes/iPhoto hub)
- Leopard (testing)
- Windows XP (testing, Netflix)

CD MacBook (main dev machine)
- Tiger
- Windows XP under Parallels (Office 2007, Visual Studio 2005, Matlab, Multisim, TurboTax)

iMac G4, 4 partitions:
- Tiger (testing)
- Panther (testing)
- Jaguar (currently uninstalled)
- Leopard (currently uninstalled)

I'm a software developer, I need all the OSs for testing ;)

Thanks for the tip. Will file it for the future.

But gigantic images a far greater inconvenience than 2 posts in a row by the same user.

Hi all

I have been enjoying this thread, seeing everyones set-ups. Here is mine. Its in my bedroom. I have 2 "blackbooks" one is connected to a sony 23" monitor (the last model dedicated to computers that they made) Just yesterday I got the cords/adapters needed to connect that blackbook to my Sony 32" Bravia TV that is in the unit next to the computer. For now I am just going to watch movies on the hard drive connected to the Blackbook on the TV. I still prefer to pull up my nice recliner to the monitor and do my "computer" work. The cabinet below the computer section holds a My Book 500GB HD. When those doors are open I just tuck my feet into the cabinet and recline in my chair. My second "blackbook" is one mobile. I use it with my iLap on the bed or out on the balcony.

I hate cords so I have them all well hidden in behind the wallunit. Next year I am planning on replacing the windows desktop downstairs in my office with a Mac Pro. That will takeover from the windows desktop that is now a server for the 2 blackbooks. All this is serviced by the airport extreme down in the office. There is an Airport express connected to the receiver above the TV so that I can have my itunes playing in my bedroom.
All that and no talk about the Cabbage Patch Kid on your bed?! :) Cute.
Hi kitty. :)

Hey Mark!

Very nice!! The colour of the iMac goes well with everything else in the room! How are you finding the Mac way of things? do you still think you will go for the wireless keyboard? I may get the new keyboard, its really grown on me!:p

Super nice clean room, i really like what you have, what IKEA desk is that by the way and did you get the glass top from IKEA or seperate?

hi there,

the wired keyboard is great, so no rush for wireless.

the mac is basically amazing, and will reccomend to all.

The glass was bought at the same time, it wasn't much extra.

Mark.

edit: thanks for the comments :)

Here's a link to my past and present setup. I've included my unboxing photos as I really wanted to post them somewhere but didn't know the best place. I hope this is ok with everyone. I'm gobsmacked with the new iMac.

very nice. i really, really, really miss the iMac G4 design. is there a chance apple could make that design but with oled screens (oled because i am assuming they are lighter in weight)....

Thanks nlivo. Whenever I show people the G4 they're blown away by it. I always hear, "Where's the rest of it?". Comparing the two side-by-side is amazing to see how far the technology has advanced in four years. The iMac I just bought is appr. in the same place in the iMac line that my G4 was. There are absolutely no glare issues with this one, dead pixels, etc. The only thing that is better about the old one are the speakers. Whatever. I love the all-in-one design so its really no big deal. Now I'm just trying fine tune everything here. For some reason iTunes won't recognize some of my purchased music. If I manually locate the file in the music folder it plays and the "!" disappears but there's enough that its a pain...but I digress.

i wanted a clock that had multi time zones... took ages to find one that wasnt a rip off, but its from a random shop.

The desk is from Ikea, its just a normal one from their range, with glass and draws.

The TV is a samsung 720p 32", and i was watching an unfortunate truth (al gore) before you get confused :D
