i think every1 in this thread will have great advice for u so all i will say is don't be hesitant to create the space as selfishly as u can... when i was furnishing this new flat a few months back, i kept thinking of stuff like "does this actually look good? is this paint color too boring? etc." but what i eventually realized is a man cave is quite literally that, an escape entirely your own.... personalize it and cater to your hobbies, display things that bring you joy, accessorize with mementos that have emotional value to you and create a space that you feel completely comfortable in.... just my two cents heh, good luck!

Thanks for the tip! My last man cave I painted all red. Bought our second house and don't know what I want to do with it or if I want to move it into the garage since we don't use it for vehicles besides my motorcycle.

Right now I have my 27" iMac, a $35 futon and my 42" plasma sitting against the wall.

This is what I would consider my man cave since no one else ever uses the room. The top and side monitors both receive an HDMI signal from my main system, so they are able to receive a signal from the PS3, Roku, AppleTV, etc.. that I have in that room because they share a wall.

The pic shows a Denon receiver, but it just stopped working, so I bought one of the inexpensive Sony receivers that has HDMI. The headphone (DacMagic, Heed CanAmp, AKG k701) setup gets more use than the speakers.

The brown chair is temporary, but not sure what will be put back there permanently at this point. I also use the space to run on a treadmill that folds up into the closet.

What is the name/model of that office chair???

It is called an IMG Windsor chair (it is the large version). I don't believe IMG sells it under that name anymore, though.

I changed out the chair in the back a while ago, but I thought I would update it in this thread while I was here:

What chair is that? Looks quite comfy. *** Nevermind, learn to read the post rather than just looking at the pic.
Oh wow, they still sell it, $1499 http://www.danishinspirations.com/product/windsor-leather-desk-chair/
I paid less than that for the large version, but they were having a sale locally. I think the cost was closer to $1100. If I remember correctly, the sale price for the regular size was less than $1000.

The chair had tons of options, so the chair in the link may have a special feature (a certain type of high end leather) that mine doesn't have.

I would buy the chair again without hesitation. The reclining feature is perfect for how I use the room.

My "office" (I never really work there, I just play video games and guitars and music and stuff)

Love the minimal but very functional setup there!
