I thought I'd spruce up the horrible photo of Mr. Cook from Time to show how much of a badass we all know he is:
Strictly speaking using Illustrator, but just followed this tutorial to create a s̶t̶r̶i̶p̶y̶ ̶m̶e̶s̶s̶ geometric work of art!

It went OK (Still learning Illustrator and very new to it in all honesty), apart from the brush never *quite* made a circle, so you can see the joins slightly. I'm not sure how to rectify this, I remade the brush and there always seemed to be a small 'slice' missing in the circle.
Centring's a bit off, forgot to check that, but easily remedied. Otherwise I'm fairly happy with how it turned out.

First time I've actually tried doing an illustration (as opposed to manipulating existing images). I traced an outline so I kind of cheated p), but I'm quite happy with the way it turned out.

UPDATE 2: I made a mock CD cover. With it I also made further refinements to the color grading, and decided that two scouts was enough. The CD template can be downloaded for free at Pixeden.com. I'm thinking of swapping the scouts, so what they don't match the color of the text. What do you think?
UPDATE 1: Now with a further post-processed version. VSCO filter for further color grading, and more lens flares.
An image render from a Source Filmmaker project. It will function as a teaser poster for a music video with royalty-free music, starring the Scouts from Valve's online FPS Team Fortress 2.
Text, 3D logo, lens flare, chromatic aberration, vignette, and color grading all done in Photoshop CC. The vinyl record is a high res .PNG that I fitted on top of the O with various Transform tools.
Keep in mind that the characters, facial expressions, poses, lighting and the poster itself is still very much WIP.
