Yeah it does CmdrLaForge. I tried my setup tonight without anything else on in the room and the fan has kicked in and been buzzing away. It isn't that loud compared to my old Tibook but there nonetheless. Any other ambient noise in the room and you can't hear it though - but that's no good for audio work at all. Funny thing is the new powerbooks don't seem to get that hot either - it's just that the sofware kicks the fan in when the DVI is connected.
Is the mini any different as far as when the fans kick in though?

Maybe I still go with the powerbook and just un-plug it while recording.

The Mac mini is about a silent as you can get with the current line up ... you could always look for a cube; no fan.
The only problem with audio recording should be the lack of FW ports; for multi-tracking i would strongly suggest an external FW drive.peace | neut

Its actually got a built in calculator and radio tuner in it with a small digital clock. Its got some pencil holders, card holders and small paperclip etc tray at the top though!!
