Finally got myself a new digital camera (a canon ixus 50 or sd400) which I'm in love with so I'm post my set up. On the left is also my new Lego Space Shuttle Discovery + Hubble Telescope that I got from a friend yesterday :).....

What's that with the blue LED? Is it a hard drive or a external cd/dvd drive? Looks nice if it was a external hard drive. Matches the Powerbook/Power Mac aluminum.

Yeah its an external HD case, along with the card reader. It matches perfectly, which is the main reason I got it. :D

Mind if I ask what brand the ext. drive is? Thanks!

Hopefully today is the day I get my new 12" PB and 20" ACD, pending if my mom will take me to the Apple Store and bring her plastic with her ;) .

NO I'm not getting it for free from her, I sold my three Macs to pay for it.

I second that! Love your setup it makes me jealous!

Thanks Jessica and rockthecasbah :). The 12" and 20" ACD has been my dream setup for a long time. I'm so happy with it. It's a perfect combination of portability and useability.

Oh and if you want to reminisce I've got some more Lego posted here :D.

ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 w/128MB VRAM dual

I use the spanning feature on my spare 17" LCD monitor, it can be very useful at times.

I used to have that set! I recall the plane being blue and grey. It wasn't very big, but it brought a lotta fun.

Here's JUST the PowerBook part of my desktop... it's not connected to any external monitors or anything (I can't stand wires), and it's using AirPort to talk to the rest of my network.

I tried hooking the PowerBook up to my monitor, mouse, and keyboard through my USB+2VGA switcher box, but I hated the sight of all those wires going into the PowerBook (not to mention how much of a pain in the ass it is to plug them in/unplug them).

I guess its a security thing.... They say it screws up the network. I don't the IT people are dumb. I don't know if it matters, but we have this thing called Perigo (for windoze only)and its software for pc that you download from the network and sign in using your ID/password, it scans your computer for virus and make sure u have the latest MS updates. Half the time it doesn't work and u can't go online, but i'm smart and have a mac so i don't have to deal with this perfigo non-sence
If i knew why we can't have wireless i would tell you.... But when i'm home, i sit on the cough in the Homer simpson postion and browse the net :p

I used to work for IT at Butler, and we couldnt let students have a wireless router either... this is because using a router gives out its own assigned IP address. This is a problem on a network that pays (SBC at Butler) for a certain number of IP addresses. Now IT can set up wireless for students to use, but thats because they clear it through their IP first. It would be possible for students to set up their own wireless but then it would just cost more, and really be more of a security issue because anyone driving by could get on the schools network.... mess things up, you know.

Butler also used some crappy windows program for PC users to get on the wireless. It did all that stupid scanning stuff... never worked, and everyone always was calling in..... "My laptop wont get on the network... whaaaa!!!" so annoying... I always told them... buy a mac. Yay for being a minority and not having crappy programs to use!!!!

Meep. I meant in the last picture you posted. There's a flat keyboard with an orange bit at the top, second from the right?

I think I'll buy a glass desk instead of an iCurve...I really can see myself knocking it off.

AppleMatt

lol... you need an iBook if your that clumsy! ;) :) I have a iBook on an iCurve and love it!!!! there pads on the bottom that hold to the surface of the notebook and keep on there. No worries. If you do knock it off... Ill take it! :)

That sticks out to me as the most beautiful thing I have ever seen haha! What a great looking computer.

Wow... you've certainly "customised" that LCD! Nice setup :)

Why do you put lots of stickers on your LCD?

Got 'er yesterday, stock 12" Superdrive model :) LOVE IT.
Only complaint, there was a stuck pixel that was there the minute I first booted it, and it's red and noticeable so that's kinda disappointing.

Thats really unlucky, I feel for you! Have difficulty keeping my clean screen, but luckily no dead/stuck pixels.

I'm guessing the pixel policy on the screen doesn't cover a single pixel, so they won't replace it under that. Any chances of just taking it back, or swapping it? Maybe smile sweetly at the manager at the Apple Store and treat them to their favourite beer or chocolates??!! :) Worth a try I suppose!
