It is a good mouse, it was for me, until it started to go wrong more and more. Before I brought it I read that people were having this problem and that it was quite common. I ignored it all and ended up with the same problems. Obviously it's not a 100% problem with all of the mice (otherwise they would never ever sell) but it is certainly a common problem, just read some reviews about them in places, thats all. I didn't mean to randomly and unfairly slog the product, after all I have one!

I've got an Apple Wireless Keyboard and iCurve now for my setup, so it's looking good. Will post a new picture when I get chance.

Hope I didn't sound too harsh Mr. Grissom.

Gosh, i hope i don't encounter any problems with it.
So far so good.

The only reason i got it was for gaming, and its been great so far.
OK, not the only reason.
It looks damn fabulous with the powerbook.
(I have also always been a fan of Stark's work)

I did exactly the same thing! I suddenly played games more often just to use the mouse when I got it, and it does look really nice next to PowerBooks. The design is really good, it's just its hardware inside (or the software!) I hope yours lasts!

Here is my current setup. Appologies for the poor quality, I've only used my phone! (Bad workman blames his tools I know!)

Heh. Am I the only one who thinks thats kinda... well, ugly?

Then again. I'm using a MX900 and I think it looks great. :p

[edit]...and Just to get this thread going again. Here is my Powerbook working hard on the Set during my Directing class.

OnSet.jpg

Thats not me BTW, I'm the one taking the stills. :)

Caleb is logging the camera data (in and out points, notes, good/no good, audio, etc.) in a spreadsheet so our Director/Editor can use the file to auto import and log the .dv video into FCP.

I'll find out next week if it worked like it should.

So, post your own Powerbook in its naturual envornment!

Recently got a new Powerbook, it's a 12" 1.5ghz, 512mb ram, 60gb, superdrive - nothin too special, but its great for what I need it to do.

I had to buy a monitor arm because I ran out of space on my desk for the Powerbook. Picked up a used one off this guy in town - man it STUNK, he was a heavy smoker... had to give it a good cleaning, and put new foam on it because it was so gross. So to all you pack-a-day-smokers, your stuff smells :p

Onto the goods!

Nice

Great little setup there bowzer. The PB looks really appropriate with the rest of the gear, couldn't see that work with a different computer, just wouldn't look as cool...

Gotta get my setup on soon...slack.

Setups like that make me want an icurve and BT keybaord real bad!

The creatures are beginning to grow on me - but I'm not convinced about the sound quality.

Cool picture. Can you send me that or give me a link?

BTW, I noticed some of you guys use an iCurve. Have you experienced that the heat from your powerbook makes the plastic soft? I would like an iCurve for my upcoming MacBook, but I wanna know if it's worth it...

Im planning on getting a set o new decks and speakers, but I was wondering how you connect that up to the powerbook?

Do you use garageband?

Perhaps a pic of the connection to your mixer?

Thanks in advance;)

Nah, I dont use garageband to do anything, sometimes I use reason to make tracks, but thats it.

I don't really use the audio out on the powerbook... the software I use with my powerbook uses the firewire port, which then goes out to a different piece of hardware which my turntables are plugged in to, so when I use special records with them, I can control and play mp3s from the powerbook through the turntables. (The program I use is native instrument's "traktor 2.6", and hardware is staton's "finalscratch 2").

I do record on the laptop though, so from my mixer's booth channel out, I plug that into the line in on the laptop. I hope that answers the question.

I think if I posted a picture of the back of my mixer it would just be way too confusing ;)

I got the iCurve to keep my powerbook screen at level with my apple cinema display and to disapate heat. It's done a nice job of both and the heat from the powerbook hasn't done anything (that I can notice) to warp the iCurve. I felt stupid buying a $35 piece of clastic when I opened it up but it really was been worth the money, as I have not scratched my new poerbook once. My old Powerbook sat on mytable and I lost 2 of it's ruberfeet within 6 months not to mention the scratches..

IMHO its worth it.
