OK. So, this was bugging the hell out of me for a while now and I've been planning on getting to it…

So, here is the new setup.

G3 Server with RAID in the cabinet. Yeah, that's my router and T-Mobile 4G/LTE Cellspot in the pic.

Quad and 2.3 Dual Core. Quad is on top and is driving the five displays to the left and the 4K television.

2.3DC is to the right driving three displays (although I can drive four, there just isn't space right now and I need the fourth monitor for something else).

My Entry

PowerMac7,3 Dual 2GHz, 4GB Ram + 22" Apple Cinema Display and my trusty viper, 12" PowerBook6,8 1.5GHz, 1.25 GB Ram that's acting as the Wi-Fi beacon for the G5, since it's lacking a Wi-Fi card.

Reposting... b/c broken links and adding some more vintage setups I had used throughout the years.

(From the original post) Used at the date of posting for about a year.

Baby G4 Cube [450Mhz, 1.5GB RAM, 15" Apple Studio Display] used for writing down ideas, poems and listening to music at night (when the large setup in the backgroud was too loud) used through 2012-2013

iMac G3 Graphite 600MHz, 512MB RAM, used from 2014 - 2017 as a nightstand computer, watching some DVD's, writing down ideas, playing old Mac OS 9 games.

I still have all of these machines, but after another move, they are still packed and sitting in the corner.

Did your PB 17" finally get retired? I remember you talking about getting a 15" MBP awhile ago.
No, it's in the cabinet right now. It was functioning, but my son decided to step on the power cord with his giant feet. Of course that 'snapped' the connection in the DC In board and I need a replacement. :(

Here’s a little update. The G5 is the only PPC that gets used anymore and it’s only for some Linux testing and OSX Leopard stuff. My PowerBook is my FW400 recovery machine. The monitor to the far left is my Thinkcentre with a Ryzen 7 1700 and Windows 10 Pro. The main PC on the desk center is my Ryzen 7 1700X Dell with Windows 10 and ElementaryOS that is my daily driver now. The monitor in the middle is my G5/second main computer monitor.

I moved about 5 months back & it has been hellish trying to build a new techno-man cave or as the better half has named it “mission control”. Alas, I have arrived. Well ... I’m on the home stretch anyhow as I still have my Dual cpu 2.0ghz powermacg5 to set up in my garage. So aside from swapping out that huge 180 pound gorilla of a crt (retro gaming) at some point for something that won’t crush you to death, I’m pretty happy.

I’ll end with this: Moving is a bitch. A prolonged & hellish torture for those so untrusting in regards to their stuff (me) as to not hire a pack & moving company.

Mission control…where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, MY wife to me! ;)

Glad you got your MC going though. Moving is a PITA.

Got my PowerBook G4 out of closet. It's been 3 years since i abandoned PowerPC as my main system. I still use PPC, but no often as back then. I have probably more then 30 Mac, lots of them are used often. Back when i used PowerPC i have had PowerBook G4 1 Ghz. This is PowerBook G4 1.67 Ghz DLSD, with 2 GB RAM and SSD, i got this 1/2 year ago. Its great machine, its still capable to be used as normal laptop, but i prefer 12" laptops.
