Not bad for being broke.

Moved the Six Dollar eMac front and center on the table, shoving the PCQ and the Beige Restoration Project over to the side. The PCQ might be the most valuable Mac in the Lab (save for the literal current model Mac mini M4), but the Six Dollar eMac is my favorite, and I'm gonna give it some well-deserved attention.

The screen still looks pretty bright!

Current setup after a few months of upgrading and adding to my Power Mac G5. I have the mismatched monitors because the GPU I have is a holy grail with an ADC and DVI input on the back instead of two of either. Rubber feet are kind of annoying on the ADC monitor, so I had to prop it with one of my girlfriend's old textbooks. I got myself a Firewire 400 enclosure since upgrading the internal drive to an SSD, letting me use the original hard drive inside of the enclosure.

Prices are not set in stone, but lets say "reasonable" (when compared to similar offerings).
Well, when the similar offerings are all either bird-flavored in quad-digits or IBM servers in five-digits or more, that doesn't really give me much confidence. I'll keep an eye on this one, though.

Ah yes, how foolish of me to suppose a board specifically made for MorphOS would have a CPU the OS could fully utilise...

a) this wasn't "specifically made for MorphOS" even if that error in judgement is easy to make
b) noone makes single core CPU/SoCs anymore
c) the state of MorphOS is what it is today and this isn't the 1st dual or even quad core system supported
d) if some sort of multi core support gets it's done it will be done for all the above

bird-flavored in quad-digits or IBM servers in five-digits or more

Nah not those, more like the stuff AEon and ACube produce for the "AmigaNG" market.

Forgive me but the link you supplied goes straight to a page that opens with:

“The Next-Gen Mainboard Designed with AmigaOS4 and MorphOS in mind”

Fair point about lack of single core CPUs - nevertheless I did initially get excited to see 4 cores reported under MorphOS - maybe support may come eventually?

Retro…

2014. 350mhz PowerMac G4 and 450mhz PowerMac G4. My old job, Pueblo Publishers, Inc (business was sold in 2018).

Three years or so later…2017.

2017-07-18 15.58.22.jpg

By the second picture both are headless with one functioning as a Print Server and the other an Applescript Server.

I've resurrected my good old iMac G4 800 MHz PowerPC. I put an old Apogee Duet on it and have it running Digital Performer 4.61. I do the mixing on a more serious Apple Silicon Laptop but prefer to record to stems with no effects. It's not bad but I'm desperately trying to get the software for iSub. Can't seem to find it anyplace but it's my first day looking. Hopefully I won't blow up my setup trying to set it up. LOL...

Been waiting until my eMac was finally up and running before posting the new setup.

1ghz eMac with 1GB of RAM, and an early Intel iMac. Still with projects of course as the eMac needs an SSD upgrade (the spinner is dog slow) and the CD drive basically doesn't work anymore, while the iMac backlight fritzes out when it's not at minimum brightness.

Okey, not necessarily a final setup, but now I've got those PPC PowerMac G4's arranged so that they are easy to get inside into, if needed. 3xG4-400 and 1xQS-867 933.

Foremost there's an electric table, adjusted to low-most height of it in the picture. You could think this more like a set-up to be, when it's time for me to retire and start tinkering all around PPC.

I've got intel Mac pros and some HP Z* sheite too under the table to tinker with, but this arrangement would be for the PPC, foremost, I'd say. LaCie 2Big FW400/800/USB there at the left on the shelf, to be filled with some retro stuff.
