I need 4 GB bad. It has only been 3 days since I last rebooted. Why did Apple limit the PowerBooks to 2 GB?

Looks like I need to quit kernel_task photoshop and safari

Not sure why this is interesting. Maybe if it were specified to do so after some specific event like boot or something but anyway, here's mine:

Looks at huge safari and kernel task usage

Anybody know how to reduce kernel task's usage?

I am shutting down for the night so things are slow. Eventually I'll max out the ram because I have 10 more gigs sitting next to my MP.

I do not understand why people will have working computer parts / upgrades sitting beside the computer and not install it.

Perhaps they haven't had an opportunity to do so yet
Other things may take priority

I am considering ordering a new HD, but I won't be able to install it immediately

Because I had 10 gigs of owc ram in my mp. I took it in for a repair and was given a new machine where apple swapped out my 10 gb for their own samsung 8 gb. It was their way of saying they hate 3rd party ram. It's been a while and I just have not had a chance to put it in. Silly thing like work & life gets in the way.

I also have a perfect condition PowerBook in the orig box in a closet that I haven't touched in 6 months. ;) doesnt that kill ya?
