Oakley Gascan black with black lenses. I'm looking to get another pair of Oakley glasses at some point, just not sure which ones yet.

This!

Yes I like this style - new and old! I also got a pair of the prescription frames. Strangely, the lenses are slightly smaller.

Very elegant. Well wear.

Around twenty years ago, I tried to get prescription sun glasses from Bausch & Lomb but one of my eyes exceeded the range of prescription lenses of what was then commercially available.

However, that is not an issue with Zeiss, and those are the lenses (for both my ordinary glass and for my prescription sun glasses) that I now wear.

Maui Jim Castaways in matte chocolate/ HCL bronze.

I can't stand plastic frames or lenses, so unfortunately its becoming very difficult to find glasses I like.

Just smashed my pair of sunglasses three days before I go on holiday. Great timing! Does anyone know how to identify Ray-Ban models? On one arm they say 'Wayfarer II' but I asked a repair company and they said they need more information, none of which is printed on either of the arms.

In the mean time, undecided which of these (or something else altogether) to buy:

EDIT: Went with these:

You might check the frame on the back above the right lens. I have a pair of Wayfarers (similar to your 2nd photo) and it has the model number stamped there, BL5024. They are from the late 80s when Bausch & Lomb owned Ray Ban.

Good choice on the 'New Wayfarers'. I love the new styling, much more practical than the vintage Wayfarers.

OK, I figured there was a sunglasses picture thread :) I've posted in a few other threads about sunglasses, and even DIY projects regarding some of the Oakleys I own.

I've got a number of X-metals, I've had for years, and I occasionally refurb them - sometimes just lenses (both OEMs and HQ 3rd party), but sometimes the entire glasses, rubber, gaskets, fasteners/rivets - there's a small, but active industry around parts, since the frames will basically last forever.

Here's a recent shipment of parts from Japan

One of the main wear components in Oakley X-Metals is the gasket inside the nose bridge - it's modular, but it's held by rivets, so remove them can be a little tricky. There's a couple of specific tools from various sources, or I just use regular handtools, some wood blocks, etc. I was using aquarium tubing to make little donut gaskets, but now there is 3rd party gaskets and even rivets (in the box above :))

Here's a pair of Romeo 2.0, new rivets, nose bridge gasket, ear stem screws and a new set of polarized, fire lenses. Can't find a source for replacement rubber yet, these are the original "root beer", these glasses are like 12 years old.

Recently picked up these after buying the Marko aviators and being thoroughly impressed with the quality and the class of the brand. I like that they're Wayfarer-esque, but not Wayfarer-angled (which doesn't work on my face). They're obviously nice shades, but they don't scream to be noticed. Tom Ford ftw.

More pictures Yes the same ones bond wore. If you are looking for lifetime sunglasses and don't mind paying extra for lifetime quality, look no further than these.
