Here is a screenshot of my system preferences pane.

I did it anyway!

Put this icon in place of the energysaver.icns (in the energy saver preference pane) file and move energy saver to the desktop. Then double click on it and install for all users.

Is the LED icon going to lower my energy bill.

Only if your screen truly is LED backlit! If you screen is LED backlit you also get longer battery life

Basically the fluorescent bulb comes with the Unibody MacBooks as part of Apple new Enviromental Friendly campaign.

I don't have a unibody and my energy saver icon is a fluorescent bulb. I wonder why that is? I have a 2.16 C2D MBP.
