My Fiance, Brian is working on a full sleeve on one arm and he's got a Star with a "C" in the middle (for me! :D) and a Sun on the same arm (but I've gotta grab some pics of those guys).
Here's his partial sleeve; its a work in progress, as you can see.
He's very into the bio-mechanical theme and if you're having a hard time grasping what's goin on there, locate the skulls and the rest of it is design work.

I love those grey washes....I used to do some tattooing in my younger days myself, but that has a real painterly feel to it. :)

Me getting an iPhone4 has brought me back to this forum. I don't know why I stopped coming here.

I like the Space Invader. How's it holding up?

Curious to see what #3 will be.

I'm working on designing my 5th tattoo. I've almost got the concept down, and then I need to sketch it. It's been too long between tattoos for me!

@Anyone: Any recommendations for a tattoo artist in Los Angeles?

I will be having the inner part of my arm with the three skulls finished off on Monday. Pretty excited to see how it will turn out.

This one hurt much more than the inside of my other arm. It's about an hour post session. The artist did 2 for my wife, one of which was a cover up, and I think ran out of time to finish my half sleeve. That is OK though, when we go back for our touchups, he can finish it. Please excuse the arm pit hair lol.

It's our anniversary date.

I dont have a tattoo yet but I made this design that I want on the inside of my arm:

cross5.png

Sorry to tell you this man, but wayyyyyy too much detail for the inside of your arm. It would end up as a black smudge cross.

It would work on your entire back though.:p

Hebrew and crosses.... weird......... Oy vey.

I totally agree with this. To be legible it will have to be pretty big. Like Surely said, suitable on your back or maybe your thigh, but your arm won't be a viable setting for it.

Odd combination but I think that it works. It must have some meaning to you.

I agree as well, no way to put that anywhere on the arm. I mean, you could, but it won't be readable and would look like a huge smudge especially as it aged.

Also, realize that for the rest of your life, you will be having to explain it's meaning to random strangers. Not always a bad thing, especially if it's some sort of testimony, but still something to keep in mind.

Not really when you think about that Jesus was the Messiah, the early church was made up primarily by Jews and the old testament foretold that that the Messiah was suffer and pay for the sins not only for Israel, but anyone who believed.

i got the cat last year and Fatima's hand yesterday... :D:D

I don't understand?

My reasoning behind the design is that the cross represents Christ who died for us etc... The scriptures have been really relevant to me through my life (look them up). And the reason for the hebrew is because 1. english text doesnt look as nice and 2. hebrew is a language of the jews, I have jewish heritage and Christ was a jew so its cool.

Im a bit bummed that you guys say it wont look good on my arm. If I used a smaller font do ya think it would be any better? Or if I gymmed more and got huge biceps? :p Any suggested minimum dimensions for legibility?
