Or, you could buy a USB one [turntable], play through your Mac and record to it as well.
I'll take my Technics 1200 MK2's over any other turntable (but that's because i use them for djing, hehe)

Not to go too off topic, but does anyone have any recommendations for someone looking to get into vinyl?
Not looking to discuss the merits of starting a record collection in 2007, but rather advice on how to buy a record player and whether anything else is required to get it going (ie. will I be able to hook it up to modern speakers?).
Thanks.
For superb phono preamps, check out brands such as NAD, Cambridge Audio, Creek. For some of the best, most affordable, true hi-fi turntables, look no further than Rega, though Pro-Ject also gets good reviews.
can't post my vinyl collection right now since i have most of the crates at my home down in southern california (i live in northern california at the moment), but these are my two favorites nevertheless:
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of The Moon
Pink Floyd - Meddle
sorry about the pic though, taken with a camera phone in my office
No, I haven't yet heard a single USB turntable which sounds at all decent. The whole point in vinyl is that it sounds better than CD, otherwise nobody would use it. Those USB record decks are absolute rubbish, and the difference between different record decks is huge in comparison between different CD players.
Can we see photos of the Top 2 listed in bold PLEASE!
Those right there are pure universal currency! Keep them away from sun & heat and pass them down to children who'll do the same.
If you EVER consider selling those PLEASE PM me first please~! I'd purchase those before any Mac, & I'm in desperate need of a Mac.
just got this from member kgarchar!
