I faired quite well. I had a broken eye socket which required some facial reconstruction. Unfortunately my friend in the back seat died. It was an awful situation to the fullest.

jon

That sounds horrific, what caused the accident if you don't mind me asking.

Sorry to hear about that.

It's been illegal to talk and drive for a while in the UK, but lots of people still do it.

I don't really remember, was knocked out completely until after the wreck. It was a real rainy and foggy night, lost control going around a turn, car hit the curb, tire dug in, car rolled about 6 times and then hit a tree.

jon

a broken eye socket? wow... I have never heard that before, sounds painful....

Yeah, if the metal was anywhere closer I would have been blind in that eye. It wasn't painful but I do have a nice piece of titanium screwed into my eye socket.

This is what happened to my mom.. She was turning in and the lady behind her didn't notice and never hit the brakes so she was hit at atleast 40 mph as she was turning in, thats what caused the car to roll:

the public pictures are below:

Neither people in the wreck had serious injuries, the lady that hit her had two young children in her car and her car was 3 weeks old.

A couple of months ago I was returning from a day out, and stopped at a service station for fuel. Just after I filled up some rich dude in a Bentley (but with brains of custard) mixed reverse gear with park, and wrote off my Seat Ibiza.

It wasn't all bad though as I got a good deal on a newer car more suitable for my needs with the insurance money paying a 3rd of it off.

Anyway, here's footage of the accident and some pics.....

Actually got a video, brilliant. The suspense waiting for the bentley. Good job you weren't between the cars when it happen as you did walk through that gap. Love the way you sprint up to the guy. Oh and good choice with the music as well.

Yeah I give an involuntary shiver each time I see that and think I just missed getting crippled. I never walk between cars now.

I edited the video as well. The full version shows me barely restraining myself from ripping his head off. My GF has to have 2-4 months of physio because he sodded her neck up and he crushed the other people next to me into the petrol pump. A regular Einstein.

Completely my fault, couldn't pay for insurance, was driving to a job interview so I could PAY for insurance. Driving up a hill @ 65 mph, saw no traffic, glanced for 2 seconds at my dashboard clock to check the time, looked up and there was a line of traffic at the bottom of the hill at a stoplight, all the way to the top. Didn't have time to stop, plowed into a new Chevy Silverado and he went into a buick. And I got a ticket for not having insurance...

I haven't had any accidents since then, this was 5 years ago.

Was driving from Denton back to Dallas one afternoon when the the rain was really really awful. I was only going about 40mph down the right lane and suddenly i just started hydroplaning. I spun several times hitting the right rear of the car on the concrete and then the front left light/radiator/bumper. I kept spinning and finally spun past an onramp only to hit a woman with the right front light/radiator/bumper. The grill stayed in tact as I only hit the corners of the front of the car. Maaco (finding used parts on ebay, god forbid new parts) quoted repair at $5k. Decided to sell it for whatever I could get it for and got 2 grand, put it down on a fully loaded 03 Jetta GLX VR6, wood trim, rain sensing wipers, leather, digital climatronic climate control...everything! Sticker was 28k, it had 40k miles and i got it for 18k with an extended warranty (to 100k miles). I still miss my mercedes so much but there are so many things in my jetta that remind me of it (german driving characteristics)

So my wife's Cavalier got totaled yesterday :(( I became the meat in a Ford Excursion (back) & Ford F250 (Front) Sandwich, when I was slammed into by the Excursion @ 50+ MPH, because the woman driving was talking on her phone.:mad:Made a total wreck of my car, but I'm ok,:) (Just a stiff neck & a little ankle pain). Anyway, if you have photos of your wrecked cars POST 'EM.
BTW The Woman who hit me didn't get cited for anything at all!, Not even violation of basic speed law, or failure to control her vehicle.
Where exactly did the accident happen? What department in the phoenix area was working the scene?

No accidents for me, but plenty of vandalism...try this one for size...

Walk-by shooting overnight across the street from my house like 4yrs ago :p I don't live in a sketchy neighborhood, I swear  4 or 5 bullets.

Horrific stories from some of ya'll, take care folks. Driving is so dangerous, but an acceptable risk.

Several other people (including OP) have also mentioned "no citation." Is this getting more common, or ???

Seems like insurance companies like to use "no fault" to reduce claims.

Hahaha, holy crap that's funny and really sad at the same time. Anyone rich enough to own a Bently, but too frigging stupid to know how to put it in park, needs to just hand it over to me right now.

This one happened...a year ago? Maybe two? Explorer flipped over 6 times, two passengers went flying out the window (always wear a seat belt!), one got the car on his leg. The driver (friend, my car) was hurt pretty bad, and still suffers from the accident. you can see the drivers part got crushed pretty bad!

We have the same car as you, but it's burgundy. It's a '88 or '89 Civic LX, right?

It happened in January of this year. I was turning left at the green left turn signal. The other guy ran the red light. I hit his car. He walked way with no injures. I ended up with two fractures in my arm.

As I haven't been around here a while, what happened (if you dare recall) or at least what you can assume, were you hit or what? Oh, oops, shouldn't of skimmed. Anyway, I have not been in a car wreck, but as a relatively new driver, it irks me to think of what could happen due to some, as I would call him after the wreck, idiot.
