Yeah, why not just get a slide rule? Better yet, a stone tablet.

On another note - Scotts, sorry about your loss. Do keep us posted.

Out of curiosity, if considering that Dell line, why the e4300 Latitude and not the e4200? The latter, at 2.2 lbs with a 12" screen, is much more impressive....

Actually, as of today, I am no longer a Mac owner. All three of my Macs were stolen earlier today.
Very sorry to hear of your loss. That sucks to put it mildly.

The past year I have become more concerned with this happening. I have my weekly backups (clones) of my hard drive. However, if someone were to steal my computer and the backup drives, I would be up a certain creek without a paddle. So I have been working to create cloud storage for my important backups. Trying out Carbonite and it seems to work well for synchronized back ups.

Also using Mobile Me and some others for archive backups of important files.

I can't imagine what you are going through losing three Macs at the same time. Hope you can get yourself up and running soon with new Mac(s).

As for the MBA replacement, the more I look at the MBA the more I see that there is really not much out there that would be a true replacement for this wonderful laptop. The MBA is an awesome laptop.

For me, most Netbooks are too much of a compromise. There are a couple of exceptions. But when compared to an MBA, for my needs, the MBA still comes out on top. I am beginning to really prefer thin over small and chunky if you will. Usually I carry some papers with me, so I need a letter sized folder/briefcase/carrying bag. So if I can tuck an MBA in with some papers, that is a wonderful solution when on the go.
