I'm looking at 26800mAh from Ravpower & Anker which I carry in flight travel. But there are just too many variations. Found that, 2.4amp input over USB micro-B would take ~10 hours to charge the battery-bank itself, also another wall adapter to carry. So want to go usb-c route so I can use Apple's 61W adapter to charge the bank which might draw 30w and be full in ~4hours.
Be careful when taking the 61W Apple adapter USB-C PD route. USB-C PD implementation is still a bit of a mess. 61W might sound sufficient but those Apple chargers can do weird things with foreign devices. GTrusted has tested many products including the 26800 Anker power bank. The Anker power bank didn't charge at full speed with either the 29W Apple USB-C PD charger or the 60W Google USB-C PD charger.

I'm also in the power bank market and debating whether or not to switch to USB-C PD or temporarily go with QuickCharge until USB-C PD can sort out their PD.

I have the Anker Powercore+ and it fast charges just fine with the 61 watt charger. What I have noticed is that the Anker Battery is picky about which cables you use. I tried charging it with with a cheap third party USB C cable with the included Anker 30 watt charger it only charged at 5V-3A rate. Ive currently been charging it with the Anker Powerport 5 PD and thats worked fine.

Thank you for your post. I read quite a few threads/posts and nowhere this was mentioned. I knew that there are so much inconsistencies and incompatibility in the USB-C world right now. The specification itself is confusing from manufacturer to manufacturer. But in all honesty I didn't know the situation is this bad.

The battery bank charges at full speed at 29W IIRC. But...
60W Google USB-C charger delivers 14.5W &
29W Apple USB-C charger is delivering 7.4W of Power. What the hell!

Do you know how much power the 61W or 87W Apple charger delivers to this 26800 USB-C PD PowerCore+ ?

Ive been getting anywhere from 20-27W from a 61W Apple USB C charger.

It depends on how low the battery is. if its around 80 percent or higher it tends to charge around 20 watts but if its stone cold dead thats when its around the max charge rate. it steadily decreases as it gets closer to 100.

The first one is of lesser capacity, now that I know that there are way more juice I can carry in flight.

But man, the second one looks interesting. But it's gigantic and with a separate adapter AND a brick! It would be too bulky for my daily travel. Besides I have no need for such a large device with AC wall adapter.

I'm looking at these two --

PowerCore+ 26800mAh PD https://www.anker.com/uk/products/variant/PowerCore-26800mAh-USB-C/A1375011

RAVPower 26800mAh PD https://www.ravpower.com/26800mah-Type-C-external-battery-charger-black.html

I would have bought Anker since it's a better design and a bit smaller. But Neither of them are available in India with retail price. :(

Dear All,
I am sorry to have to hit reply on this thread but i have not used forums before and i don't know if i can post something new about the Ravpower 26800 Usb type C PD on a macforum. So i found this post and hoping someone can advise me.....i got the above batt about 10 days ago, and it seemed fine, then it stopped charging devices when more than one was plugged in. Amazon gave me a refund. So i have bought the same one again as it does get fantastic reviews, and it did seem good before it went nuts on me!
2 things i was hoping you people could help me with maybe?
Firstly, does this charger charge devices fast even with 2 or 3 plugged in at the same time? I would have thought it would, as thats why its got ismart USB A sockets, and a type C one, all on the same device. What does everyone think?

Secondly, is there a way i can get my Macbook 2013 edition to have a USB C port on it? there must be an adapter somewhere i can modify the power supply input into a type C one?

many many thanks and i hope i have not put this post in the complete wrong place,
Matthew

Look at the spec sheet and you’ll see that there is an amperage for each port. Also there is an amperage for collective output. The PD of usb c is just a standard. While it might output enough juice to charge small devices, it will never satisfy a hungry 15” laptop. So check the ports output capability and you’ll get answer to your question whether it can charge multiple devices at full speed or not.

As for the usb c port conversion, No, it won’t work. Not for the purpose you are asking.
