The ability to add a PPTP VPN configuration has been disabled/removed in this beta.

Let's hope it will be back soon, use it quite a lot.

Yeah I know but my home router only has PPTP and I only use it for a few quick things.
Plus, using Facebook/Twitter in China is now more difficult.

We rely on people like you to read release notes.
I'm guessing you only use iTunes after reading the entire T&C.
Because reading release notes for a beta that you install on your device to actually know the details of something you are installing and wanting to use is somehow similar to reading generic legal information accompanying most things out there?

I'm sorry but installing a beta operating system without reading the release notes about what is known to be and not to be functional and how it may or may not destroy all your data is just stupid.

Now admittedly, the iOS 10 release notes don't mention this but the MacOS 10.12 release notes do state that due to being insecure, PPTP has been removed:

VPN connections using PPTP are insecure and no longer supported in iOS 10 and macOS Sierra

I remember you C DM ;). Sometimes you just want to experience something new without looking at the instructions.
I put out a word of warning for those that might be affected. It's not the end of the world.

You knew this because you read about it in the release notes, good for you.
I prefer finding out in experience, I can afford the consequences.

Then it seems there shouldn't be much of a surprise to find out that various things are already known.

So I'm in trouble for not reading something that's not in the release notes?

So now that we've established that there is no PPTP support in this iOS 10 Beta, and we can assume that it will be removed permanently, are there any work arounds for those of us who still use PPTP?

Why, so I can troll on forums devoted to Apple products?

If you read my other comments, or actually who started this post.
You would know I'm a devoted Apple user.

A joke never killed anybody.

I hope it is still available. I understand it is insecure, but some routers I support, only allow PPTP as a means for remote access. It is the only way I can get into them remotely. And when I do, it's from a secure network.

Same. Reason I started this post. I lost the ability to VPN back to my Asus router at home.
The only option now is OpenVPN but it's very slow and will disconnect at hotels etc. where bandwidth is limited.

Use a router with L2TP. If your router supports it, you can flash a firmware that has L2TP/OpenVPN.

Unfortunately mine doesn't, which is why I have a VPN server.

Yes. Upgrade your VPN. Any Raspberry Pi will serve as a great VPN and much more secure than your existing PPTP connection for cheap.
