Your response was so defensive. If you want the Back 2 School Promo, go for it. Apparently you take anyone disagreeing with you as confrontational.

If you don't like reading what I have to say, click BLOCK, and you'll never have to read it.... but giving a quick glance at your post history, I see you've contributed very little information to this forum. Good luck to you.

Awww can't actually debate the point at hand and have to make some skewed insult about my post history? I have contributed well more than you have.

It wasn't a defense. I couldn't care less if people are not getting their every last dollar saved. It was a reply to YOU and your borderline-troll posting.

You have done NOTHING but get into confrontations with people on this board. Hijacking many threads with your bickering one-off's. And you have the nerve to try and say something about my post history? As if you have any credibility yourself?

Are you serious? $100 credit does not equal cash.

Can you spend it on a case? Can you spend it at BestBuy? How about Amazon? hehe. Not sure why people defend Apple so much... everyone is entitled to their opinion, if it's something you find a good deal, buy it through Apple, if not, don't.

I didn't realize an Apple.com promotion discussion had anything to do with "Pre-order from Amazon" ... hmmm, I'm the one who hijacked the thread and took it off topic, right?

For me personally the Apple 100 app store credit is useless because I don't have an iphone. I would MUCH rather preferred the usual free ipod touch. Idk why apply stopped doing that this year.

But back to topic....I called amazon just know and rep told me he doesn't know when they will get the MBAs. It could be a week or maybe more. Vague answer. I told him about MacConnection's price which is 1249 and MacMall which is 1253, but the he said Amazon doesn't pricematch for computer/laptop products. He even suggested that Amazon price might even go up (which he was BSing IMO). I would actually buy it from Amazon right now even at the 1295 pricetag if I knew I could get it next week simply because of their great CS. But everything seems very vague rt now.

Nope but you can sell it on ebay or any other gift card trading site.

Same as your argument about getting the free iPod; "at least you can sell it".

Again, why the "defend apple" mantra. Why do you think they are trying to scam people or something?

Really? Are you SO TIREDOMG?!

Calm down man, your general attitude on this board is the tiring thing.

Actually, a LOT of people will use it. You don't speak for the general public, and I am sure many people will use it. I know I have a few purchases lined up already myself.

Also, in case it was not clear, you can use it on the MAC APP STORE, THE APP STORE (iOS), ITUNES STORE OR IBOOKSTORE. Surely people could find some use for it, I know I could in a single day.

This is a BACK TO SCHOOL promo. For students. A lot of students need different types of software depending on the classes they are taking.

It isn't some SMOKE AND MIRRORS CONSPIRACY OMG.

If you are a full time student at a decently sized 4 year university, you should be getting a lot of software discounted/free, thus negating the need for the App store. Some cases can be made for itunes but again, it's not cash, you are tied up by it and if you sell it, you are very likely not going to get full value. Losing 10% on any asset is not a good sell, regardless of what it is. (in this case $10, plus the time you have to spend selling it).

Apple Edu discount is a good deal and paying sales tax helps your community, but it's still not CASH. And many people still treat it as such. That's the problem I have with some of the posters claiming it is as good as cash. It's not. (And for me I need at least 320kbps and already use CS5/Lightroom, products not offered by Apple (yet))

Place an order, then call them, they'll PM. But hey, I don't offer anything useful according to xtxtxtxtxtx ;-)

iPod can also be sold at double:eek: the cost of the gift card.

I think that poster is correct.

1) not everyone has an iphone...that automatically reduces the 100 value
2) it's not even a 100 gift card to be used at the apple store. It's only for the app store, which many like myself have no use for.
3) even if it was a 100 gift card you could buy many of the product at online retailer like amazon for much cheaper

But still none the less if I had an iphone, I would getting the MBA right now from my local Apple store and not have deal w/ any extra hassle of wait time.

So they pricematched your mba with MacConnections after your placed your order? I guess it's YMMV as for as getting pricematched...but I guess you can always cancel if they don't.

Can you read? I'm trying to help your case out and you say I'm "defend Apple". How is saying that $100 credit is not cash defending Apple?

Edit:
That isn't the point. Try to keep up.

I guess neither of you guys can read. My username is NOT getyup.

No they mismatched the Apple Business Discount (my company gets that price). I am a high-volume customer at Amazon, so that gives me a little leverage when I call, but I think it's all about how you ask. If you tell them you really love Amazon (which most of us can honestly say), and that you'd be appreciative of anything they can do, let them know it's in-stock at Apple but you'd prefer to support Amazon, they'll usually match competitor discounts.

But if you come at them like xtxtxtxtxtx or a gimmie-pig, then they'll give u the "we don't price match" line in a second, and note the order\account. :)

It's usually not best to accuse someone of hijacking a thread in a thread you've hijacked. Not good etiquitte

I am just joining in a conversation with the people who have already hijacked it. But what I won't do is continue to be baited by a troll. You have my permission to carry on :)

Officer, everyone else was looting so I just joined in and grabbed a TV for myself. That means I'm not a hypocrite when I speak out against looting, right?

But when the difference of selling that card comes out to be greater than any other price out there, than that negative 10% is still worth it though, no? So it is as good as cash. No one is literally saying it is the SAME as cash. Because it is not. But just as you will go and research and jump through hoops to get to the absolute bottom line price, what's a bit more leg work in the log run?

The classic "I'm superior" defense. Your posts are just as trolling in this thread.

That rep is clueless. There's a link right on the MBA page where they want you to tell them about a lower price. And, Amazon often does price match computers.

AGAIN man, how much effort does it take to read? This post was on your side and again you fail to see that.

I wasn't accusing you, I was just adding comment to your statement. I'm just going to stop using the quote button because when I respond to your point, you think I'm confronting you. In a newspaper, when someone is quoted and then commentary added, it's not talking to the person who made the comment, it's commenting on the subject of the quote.

I completely agree with you regarding this whole 100 "cash" topic.
