How do you play pubg with the unresponsive touchscreen issue? You're gonna have a bad time if you ever try to play with good players and your touchscreen problems cause you to lose.

I don’t have a unresponsive touch screen. If you watched my video you would’ve known this and seen my touch screen always always works.

Sometimes you can touch a letter, it clicks and lights up, but doesn’t type in the sentence. Several other people are having this problem, it doesn’t affect normal function. And the problem can go unnoticed as it took me 8 days to realize something was up. Problem occurred on (2) identical iPad Pro 11” models.

The screen always recognizes touch though, whether or not the OS decides to act on that touch is another thing.

This is most likely a iOS issue. As a reset and update alleviated the issue for the most part.


Never had a issue any other time though, other than typing when this problem would occur previously.

And it has never affected games!

If you look at all ipad generations, they all have a home button. So, that being removed is a pretty significant change in design. I do not use a case so that is not a problem for me. But, most of all is the performance increase, obviously not a small one. You cannot encode 4K video on a 2017 iPad. It is far to slow to do this.

USB-c does give you more possibilities, I plug my iPad directly into a Ethernet cable when I’m playin PUBG online.

Also, the new iPad Pro can be used as a wireless touch display with a Mac mini.

The list goes on. I never owned a iPad before, so I cannot directly compare.

But, in a lot of applications the performance difference alone is more like the 2017 can’t, and the 2018 can.

Bingo! We need that now lol. The hardware in this current iPad Pro is beastly. They really need to open it up.

Changes in design are not that significant. The home button on the iPad is even more useful than FaceID to me because I can operate it without lifting the device. The processing power is nice to have but the available phone apps are not even able to use the full potential of the A10X CPU.

So the Software/OS is really the key here. After waiting for several years to get this improved I wait until they did this finally. Than I buy new recent hardware....

I use Adobe Rush rigorously about everyday. I love it! Being able to skim through, and cut a 4K 60FPS timeline that is zoomed in is nice. And it is actually smooth. Apple and developers do need to do a better job on optimizations. I deal with it constantly, black bars in games or even apps. The native resolution isn’t even supported in most games and apps on my 11”, so how could it possibly even be optimized to the full potential of all this power? Most apps and games are not. But at least Adobe has there stuff in line.

I’m all for a file system, and mouse support too on the iPad! We have USB-C now, it is gimped, I wish apple would unlock it to the full 40GBPS like thunderbolt 3? Then we could use external graphics cards on a iPad Pro lol. Imagine the possibilities..

I guess the real question is not what kind of features the next iPad Pro will have, but what issues it will suffer from. Bending ? Unresponsive screen ? Screen light leak ? Or some brand new, still unforeseeable defect ?

I don't buy an iPP in 2018 speculating that an IOS that finally uses it's power and possibilities arrives one year later. To wait for the 2020 iPP would make much more sense in this case because I know by then how much it has really improved towards a "pro" device. Hope the very best for Apple, in the meantime I use an additional Surface to overcome the flaws of IOS with tablets....

The cost of a 12.9 pro, keyboard case, pencil plus Apple care is absolutely astonishing in the most ridiculous way possible. It costs more than the Air for example and is in many ways not as capable (software wise)

Yes there are cheaper options , but these have too many compromises.

Waiting to see if the new regular iPad to be announced next month picks up any pro features for a lore reasonable outlay.

Prices aren't going down and no new iPad Pros will come in 2019. Look at the iPhone XS, the 11 is already forecast to be the same price. There isn't much more with the silicon that Apple can do, and as has been posted, the OS is what needs the biggest Upgrade, sorely.

Just like computers will always have a USB C port, they will not eliminate this from the IPP. Chassis strengthening, OLED, and better cameras are about all they can add that might improved between years. Chipset would only be a mild 10% gain. They are already on 7nm chips. And there is NOTHING that comes close to taxing this IPP.
